Skyrim Special Edition

Man, the wife and I are having a great time replaying this game. It is so sad that the best games to come out for this generation of consoles are GTA V and Skyrim Remastered, both of which were last gen games.
This just hit me recently. Outside of Witcher 3 & Fallout 4 almost all my playing time this gen has been towards The Last of Us, Skyrim, and GTA V.

I really need to get the last of us...

PS4 now. I know there aren't as many mods as on PC but they'll still help add some newness to the experience.

It's just sucks that because of the restrictions for PS4 you can't get the Unofficial Patch. Never the less I'm sure you will find some that are fun.

I just looked it up and see what you mean. Sounds like it has more mods and some other graphical enhancements not available on PS4?

Oh well, the PS3 version crashed constantly and was buggy as hell so a stable playthrough will still be a huge improvement on what I remember. I haven't played in years either so hopefully it's a nice hit of nostalgia.

Right now I'm playing the game unmodded on PC, cause I still want the achievements to pop... even though I've played and beat the game on PS3 and 360 and put in another 90 or so hours modding vanilla on PC.

I'm running a character that is basically a spell-sword with a focus on lightning, ice, and wind: a Storm Lord, if you will. Pretty much a mage killer once he is built. Main skills are One-Hand, Destruction, and Conjuration. Conjure up atronachs, apply a cloak spell (can't wait to get to Solstheim and get the whirlwind cloak), and then go to work blasting and slicing fools. I level up Alteration and Enchanting as well. Alteration gives me access to 30% Magic resist and the Atronach perk, stacked with the Atronach stone and being Breton means mages do zero spell damage to me, whereas I am free to cast at will while my atronachs tank. I haven't even mentioned the Shouts I can use that kind of go with the theme of storms. Breath spells, lightning storm, unrelenting force, the dash, slow time(I imagine my guy taps into lightning or wind and moves super fast, lol). I want to level up illusion to 100 just to get the invis spell, but really that would be overkill. Especially since I can take mass paralysis from Alteration and treat it like a burst of paralyzing lightning bolts, or something. For stats, I stop putting points in magic around a base of 250, because with enchanting I can lower spell costs and raise my magicka regen more than enough to counter the atronach stone(I don't exploit the alchemy/ench/resto loop).

I hit level 47 yesterday.. getting close to the level 50 achievement. Finished Dawnguard yesterday.

Bruh you can mod achievements back in no problem

I am still debating whether I should buy this or not.. maybe I will buy it today if it's cheaper

Anyone on PS4 have mod recommendations?

Phenderix is a must. To re quote what I said,

Words cannot describe how much I love these new Conjuration spells. By Phenderix.

I love going in with a small army of 9 Dremora Lords, and you can summon Frost Giants, Dwarven Centurions, Gargoyle Brutes, Elder Dragons, Armored Trolls, Vampire Lords, and so on. Plus you can use the Dead Thrall on any dead NPC regardless of their level.

I used it on the Snow Elf you have to fight during the Dawnguard DLC, have barely had to do any fighting since lol. Those summons he adds go on a tear.

Thanks, I did grab that one.

Hoarding is alright but don't pick up everything. The common ratio for items should be a easy number: a weight to value ratio of 10.

Anything less than 1:10 isn't worth it. You should only take loot that has gold value of 10 per every weight. For example, if something weighs 37 it should be valued at at least 370. You can raise or lower the ratio depending on how much money you currently have or need.

Picking up item is a really tedious way to make money. You're much better brewing and selling potions: multiple effects potions are worth a lot and you level alchemy brewing them and speech selling them!

No worries about that. I already do the weight ratio of 10 or better but i still fill up after each mission (big ones anyway). And if one of the bosses or several have good quality heavy armor then its an auto juggle mode for me.. I try to pick u p a few ingredients and random things like pelts but generally i am smart about it. not short on money at all so i think i am nearing the point where i am not going to need any i think.. not sure.. i know my stash is full of stuff i can sell if i really have to...

i have stash in several houses all separated by time. one chest is for weapons, one is for armor, another cabinet is for ingredients.. the storage is that serious.. lol
