Size Matter ?!?

Ali was great, one of the best.

Ray Robinson more skilled IMO. Theres like 5 guys I would put above Ali, all smaller guys.

CoarseDismalGannet.webp
and in a real fight between Ali vs Ray these tricks would be useless, Ali strength would crush Ray.

HW Power overcome little guys skills every Day...

floyd in shape vs Conor
out of shape vs Logan

it was an exhibition fight, and floyd treated it like so.

Its hilarious that you think Floyd doesn't cut weight and rehydrate.

Floyd wouldn't even reveal what his ring weight was in the pacman fight.

Wonder how much Floyd outweighed Tenshin by?
He's fought a few times with his ring weight reported. He cut next to no weight.

Floyd showed all the signs of a aged fighter - slow hand speed / lack of slick foot work / telegraphed punches / plethora of missed opportunities

I think speed beats power but to a degree. That degree would be in that weight class. I think usually, the smaller guy in that division has an have an advantage where size does not matter.

But, I am sure allot of good boxers can beat some normal Joe who boxes in his garage that may out weigh them by 40 to 50 pounds. I could see a 200 pound guy losing to a 160 pound guy easily....maybe 150 but 140 is starting to push the size difference.

In street fights, When we think of size, one of the first things we think of is wrestling or how much harder someone hits. If you are on the smaller size and you know allot about pressure point stuff that is illegal in MMA rules, its probably a very good idea to get good at in a street fight. I seen how small people can easily get out of certain situations because they were very well educated in different pressure points. I saw it in High School with very good wrestlers. UFC is rules...in a street fight a smaller guy can win...but...size in general matters. Plus, why risk a fight with some Heavy Weight if your not bruce lee or someone that has to prove himself. Self Defense I get it but not just to prove something if your a nobody.
This is close to arguing that MMA = rules so they won't be good fighters in the streets. I've said it before in a different thread, but if someone says that using groin kicks and stuff would throw off an MMA fighter what do you think would happen to someone if the fighter did it? What if Edson Barboza full tilt blasted a guy right in the testicles? Or what if a fighter with "rules" gets control of somebody but started doing heinous techniques? It's not as if fighters are incapable to fucking people up in other ways than a sanctioned sporting event.

Floyd is 45 and isn’t even trying at this point dude. This is all just circus shit so he can make money to pay for the strip club in his house. Prime Mayweather would kill Logan Paul.

Weight classes clearly exist for a reason. But it''s not the same Floyd he's 4 years older, it was also in a later round and he didn't even score a knockdown against Conor. That stoppage would have been absurd in a real match.
What do you mean absurd and real match? that was a real match, a pro fight, not an exhibition without judges and only 8 rounds...the reason Floyd was able to put Conor away is because Conor wasnt a 190lbs (200+ in reality) athlete and he still got crazy tired, it happened in the 10th round, he didnt had the cardio or size to do what Paul did, but Conor stoppage was a legit one, Conor was on his way to kiss the canvas, and Floyd has never been a power puncher to begin with.

How do you punch a guy that throws one or two shots in the air then clinches like a wet blanket holding on for dear life in survival mode?

JP is delusional thinking that Logan hurt Floyd. He didnt have a mark on him. Logan looked like he gassed after the third round. He even admitted he knew that Floyd let me survive. Floyd was out there having fun. It was a sparring match. he made $30m from the sponsors on his shorts before he even entered the ring. legal bank robbery...

that stoppage would never be considered okay in a real boxing match. He wasn't even really hurt, but obviously he was out of his league and stood no chance. That was known before the bout started.

Floyd finished off Conor, but he couldn't finish off a bigger guy.

that's why dwarves can't be considered the best Fighters or GOAT, they don't have the strength of the bigger guys.

Roberto Duran proved that skill takes a guy to some extent, but it's not enough to overcome the difference in size and weight.

*Floyd coudln't win against the bigger guy.

Most likely the MMA fighter wins without rules in a street fight. I have seen how effective someone used pressure points before. That a smaller guy was able to use it on legit wrestlers but not MMA fighters. It was interesting to watch but I keep my reality in check to. I am not that guy who walks around with a Military jacket, Swiss army knife, and a survival hand book who lives in his own world lol.

You’re forgetting the fact that conor was tkod
In the 10th round, logan would have suffered similar fate because he was looking winded.

THis was not a repeat of Conor-Floyd.
Logan Paul waas getting the better of Floyd in the later rounds. He definitely won the last one too.

Floyd: Easily outlands a guy 20 years younger and 50 pounds heavier

World: Size matters.

Yeah, size does matter. If Floyd was a 90 pounds, he would have died.

A real match would never be stopped like that. With a fighter who had never been knocked down once and was still trying to fight back. But everyone knew it was a joke and not a real bout.
