Siver Vs Phan moved..

Nam by decision. Siver's a kickboxer who likes to throw hands and single kicks, but he's short so he'll have a hard time setting up kicks since Nam keeps a good boxing volume up close with good, fast combinations.

Andre Winner and Nunes stay further away than Phan, which suits Siver more, and Soto was too slow for him. I think Siver will shoot in this, but Nam does enough on the feet to get the nod.

i want nam to win, but i think siver will

I think Siver has this, comfortably by UD. Glad to see they managed to change the mind of the one MMA fan who preferred to see Cruickshank/Martinez!

perfect opening fight; heart says Nam via more fluid hands / combos, brain says Siver by having more one shot power and better gameplanning. Siver by decision or possible TKO, but I hope i'm wrong.

Siver really needs a finish. Fight Matrix ranks him as the #2 featherweight in the UFC: http://www.fightmatrix.com/mma-ranks/featherweight/

He won't get into title contention with winning decisions against opponents like that though. Siver doesn't speak English and his personality isn't really exciting. His only chance to get a title shot is to win impressively.

Here is a recent interview with Siver since we don't hear him talk that often:

Nam is tough to finish; most of the time he's been finished (pre-UFC), the stoppages have been somewhat controversial. A decision win is no shame, but this is a short notice fight so if he's going to stop Nam, this is the time.

TKO! Siver has too much power. He is a real Giftzwerg

thx for vid, I think nam is very durable and great boxing if he pressures siver he could have him in problems here.

I read in a sherdog interview nam will try and land body shots to bring siver down to the ground so he can work his ground game, only issue is sivers got good take down defense and is no slouch himself and gets right back up.

I feel nam coming in on 3 weeks notice is just not enough time but he will always keep it competitive and always has a chance, but siver has been training longer and should come in the more stronger and powerful kicker and striker for 3 rounds, he may loose one round at best I feel but grab a decision win here.

Am I the only one who thinks Young Guns deserves the sponsorship dollars more? At least he has fought for UFC gold.

i think the weigh cut for Nam will be easier, so I see him outworking Siver to a UD. If Phan can avoid getting hit while closing a difference, I think his body punches will take their toll.

Nam's biggest challenge is not getting hit from the outside.

Have to admit, you had me worried there TS. I thought you meant moved from this card to a different one.

Anyways, Nam Phan by decision due to technical in and out boxing.

Thing is Siver has problems with fast volume strikers.

Nam's kinda slow and lumbering and is mostly a counter striker who gets really passive at times.

Siver seems to do well vs counter strikers so that's why I'm taking him in this fight.

And to those questioning his chin, he's only been knocked down 3 times(twice by cerrone) and KOd once(guillard) in his entire UFC career(14 fights).

And Nam's not a KO machine.

Nam's footwork isn't the fastest, but he's used the same few combos often with good accuracy (left hook to the body, right straight; left hook, right straight, left to the body). His jab is also pretty good.

Siver's got short arms and likes to hook to the head and throw the occasional low kick. He's got more power than Phan, which is a nice equalizer, but I think Nam will land more and make Siver miss - Nam's def the one with head movement, Siver's upright and stiff, while Nam's more loose and fluid.

I like Nam's boxing rhythm and he's more skilled on the ground, but Siver's stronger and has no doubt beat tougher guys.

Siver by tko.

I expect him to land at least 1 spinning back kick

Didn't even know this fight was happening!

Good match up, Siver's body kicks vs Nam's body punches.

I give a slight advantage to Siver but I could be very wrong on this one. Nam has suprised me before.
