Since when is 180 big at 5’7?

Why did you pick selectively out of what I posted to paint a silly false picture? Let me post this again with some emphasis:
  • Based on a BMI of 18.5–24.9, the National Institutes of Health’s BMI tables indicate a 6 ft male’s healthy weight should fall between 140 lb and 184 lb Medical News TodayNHLBI, NIH.
  • Clinical ideal body weight (IBW) tables often narrow this to 166 lb–202 lb for 6 ft tall men, accounting for variations in frame size and methodology Kolors Healthcare.
  • HealthifyMe’s chart similarly suggests an optimal weight of about 140–185 lb at 6 ft for healthy BMI values Healthify.

Missed the point entirely. BMI is based on sedentary individuals with no extra muscle mass.

It's a shit metric for athletes with muscle.

Yeah, athletes aren't 25% bodyfat, they're probably more in the 10-15% range. Really only HWs are any higher than that and can show up with a bunch of fat jiggling around the cage.

Comparing an athlete an average sized man who's carrying a shit ton of extra fat is a little silly. You should say "healthy" instead of "average", because those are not the same thing, and a healthy weight for a regular 5'7 guy is probably like 150 lbs on the high end.
Around 155-160 is fine. If you're below 150 people might start mistaking you for a crackhead.

BMI is based on heart health. The heart doesn't care if the hypothetical 5'7'' man is 210 pounds of built up muscle mass, or fat,

or some combination of the two. To the heart, that man is overweight and the heart is being stressed because of it.

Oh yeah.. I’m gonna get down to 190, look shredded and then start actually hitting legs and have a 6 pack at 210. Its called not being a Lanklet

Chuck Connors looks like a "lanklet" to you?

6'6'' 190 lbs in trim and athletic condition

Yeah.

OP claims to be under 25% body fat at 200-whatever-lbs at 5"7, Ilia is probably around 10% in fight shape.
Fair but Idk if Illias in the ring at 10% bodyfat. Some dudes like Islam are absolutely that shredded. With Illia I see 12-14%.

also 25% body fat being the threshold for "not fat" is insanity <lol>
I never said I'm not fat, lol. I said that Id be shredded in the 180s. Which is just an absolute fact. But Im a gym bro.. Obviously I train for size and whatnot.

Illia is a bit lighter and he looks alot smaller then me. But dude is a world class athlete.. There's probably some secret sauce with bone density and whatnot..

BroScienceTalkatWork be like "5'7'' 210 lbs"

You are either built like that; or, more likely, you are some combination of over gym muscled / fat / overweight in general and act like what you are is the norm - probably because you are surrounded by a bunch of like minded "gym bros" in your day to day life. Or, you come from an American Football background which everyone is over muscled in that sport (although it works for said sport; similar to how being overweight works for Sumo Wrestling).

Let me ask: would I be considered a "lanklet" to you Mr. BroScienceTalkatWork? I weigh roughly the same as you - 210 lbs - in this kind of shape:

Let me know if i'm doing something wrong lad.

You're definitely lanky man. That said, you would fuck me up since we're the same weight and seperated by 20 pounds of fat.

No dude not at all. Other guy was 6' 6 195 lol big difference.

You do realize that almost all the strength a man can produce, comes from the leverage of his bone structure and attachments, right? It doesn't matter if Chuck Connors was "195 lol"; he had a big frame with big leverage and long attachments. Jon Jones is a guy that was known for being bony as fuck and probably no much above 210 pounds for his early fights and he was tossing people around left and right. Leverage my friend

Bro Ive been saying Im fat this whole time. Lol.

210 and lean at 5' 7 is otherworldly. I probably won't show a 6 pack until 190 ish..

But I'm far from a bodybuilder, just a guy who's been in the gym a couple years. I know dudes who are an inch taller and stay in the 220s with ease.. I also know dudes who are an inch shorter and never been above 150.

There's more variation in width and thickness then people seem to think.

Is Alexander Volkov a "lanklet" in this photo:

nwnatijlawfzgez.20121022164406.0.jpg

He "only" weighed 225 lbs in this fight against Brett Rogers. Does that make him a "lanklet" considering he is 6'7'' (if not taller)? After all, 225 lbs is not a heavy weight for the "average american man"; plenty of guys weight that much or more in day to day life. But very, very few of them look like Volkov in this picture even at 180 pounds let alone 225. Most men are knowhere near as big as they think they are; they are just some combination of over muscled and/or fat.

He's probably 12-16% out of camp, there's just no way he's 12-14% on fight night.

If that was the case, he wouldn't have that hard of a time to make the weight with months of dieting.

He said he's usually 80 kg (176 lbs), but can get up to 82-83 (180-183ish).

I think you're mixing up "power" and "strength".

DC was 5' 9 and he was ragdolling the fuck out of heavyweights. Especially in his Strikeforce days...

But the leverage > mass thing certainly makes a lot of sense when you're talking about power punchers. Tommy Hearns knocked the fuck out of people at 6' 1 154

Nah, 5'7 is really short. Some other 5'7 athletes for sports that don't cut weight would be Lionel Messi(145 lbs), Diego Schwarzman (low 140s), Spud Webb was 5'7 and 133 lbs.
