Since MMA Math = wrong, does Conor rinse Justin?

MMAth is wrong because you can't draw a straight line between who one guy beat and another guy beat. You have to account for a lot more factors and even then you don't know because you don't know where a guys skills are at until he performs.
MMA Math (along with similar "math" in other sports) doesn't account for style differences, who was better prepared mentally/physically on a given night, etc. But people go too far and throw out the baby with the bath water. Comparing common opponents, fight records and "strength of schedule" is important, along with certain intangibles. If I bet on MMA fights, I'd certainly consider how fighters fared against common opponents. But I wouldn't use it as my only predictive measurement.

In prime? Absolutely. Now? Not so sure. Gaethje 70/30 for me right now. I still think Conor is better in ideal situation, but that situation is not a reality. He had broken his leg multiple times and hasn’t fought for a long time. Him being 35 also won’t help.
That's a generous estimate. I'd give Conor a 10 percent chance since he can hit hard. I think Justin doesn't want the match out of principle.

Patient Gaethje feels like a myth sometimes. He fought like a retard against Oliveira two fights ago. He doesn't do well against pressure. Fiziev was doing a great job until he gassed. And Poirier looked very bad against Chandler. I picked Gaethje to win, just didn't expect him to flatline Poirier lol.
Experience and age e can get s person to grow out of it. Or you could be like vitor Belfort, baroni, etc and fold when it doesn't go your way.

Sherdog has taught me that MMA math is always wrong, so I can only conclude that Conor rinses Justin with ease

Also I don't know what "rinses" means, I just made it up but it sounds like something a Sherbro would say so I used it here.

Discuss. Rinse and Repeat.

The Conor who sparked Aldo and Alvarez runs through Justin. Unfortunately he no longer exists. We hot the try hard keyboard technician now.

I think Justin kicks him to death.

You could be right yeah. Also, I respect him for his principles since I believe he is one of those rare natural athletes.

I'm not saying that comparing common opponents contains no useful information. It certainly does. But you never quite know how well a fighter or his opponent are prepared on a given night. And the factor that people most commonly leave out is ring age. Fighting Chuck at his peak in the UFC is different than fighting him in his last fight with Tito. And what do you do with someone like Dennis Hallman who beat Matt Hughes twice but spent most of his career as a regional circuit level fighter and never was a contender when he was in the UFC? I don't think any of the shine from beating Hughes tells us much about the guys that beat Hallman.

Well maybe, I just don’t see it, but I guess I have never seen what some people see in Gaethje.

Here's what I see in Gaethje.

I see a guy that gives every part of himself to the fight he's in.

I see a guy truly willing to die in there, not just talk about it.
A guy that doesn't just melt because his cardio is strong, and his heart is stronger.

I see a guy that might have more bonuses than fights at this point (slight hyperbole), but not far from the truth.

I see a guy that is almost always (nobody is perfect) respectful to his opponents....win or lose.

I see a guy that would kick Conor's legs into oblivion.
You seen what Dustin did with kicks, nevermind Justin.

So yeah, that's what I see in Gaethje sir.

What frustrates me about Gaethje is he refuses to work on his grappling...but I grew up wrestling so I'm probably biased.

Much love boss man.

What math did you use ?

I agree with everything, but some of those things won’t help you win fights when you are outmatched. I never attacked his heart or him as a person, seems like a stand up guy that truly gives it his all.

Also yeah, he would probably slice Conor’s legs right now. But I don’t think it was a case of Dustin being a great leg kicker, more of Conor’s legs just being injured and giving out. But I guess in the fight it doesn’t matter, you just lose.

And again, I will agree. I hate just how limited he is in BJJ department and how much he refuses to wrestle considering that he has that as a base. He could have been much better (at least well-rounded) if he didn’t ignore that part of MMA. Maybe ignore is a harsh word, but seeing him on the ground, he definitely looks lost. That is why I hated to watch that Khabib fight.

Im talking about the fight that Conor got KOd.
He went into his corner talking about how bad his calves hurt.

All and all I think we agree sir.
