Similarities between Fedor/Conor

Both stayed with their trainers
Both dethroned then perceived the best fighter in the division as they came up in a dominant fashion after mowing down fighters in their division
Both put their country on the map in the world of MMA, though one could argue there were more top fighters from Russia before Fedor than from Ireland before Conor
Both have this aura about them
Both have a hot wife/gf
Both train with nobodies, though few exceptions like Aleks, Sergei, Gunnar, and Ido(lol)
Both train with that poodle noodle thingy with their trainers, Fedor with his striking trainer, and Conor with Ido
Both are exciting as hell
Both have a heck of a chin * Before his run in Fedor, he was most elusive fighter in all of MMA according to some stats out there, I think he was the top on some other striking related statistics shown on one of recent Threads on Sherdog as well
Both hit pretty hard

Both are greatest fighters of all times, Fedor being the number 1, and Conor being the fourth after Jones and GSP.

Nate is no joke, hopefully Conor pulls through...I can see Conor being three division champ, but it's all about match ups though.. you'd think Conor would win, and most probably win, but Nate is a really good boxer himself, but in a different way...

Prime Fedor to me will always be #1 because he could do it all, great striking, great submissions , great transitions, one punch KO power , even tried a high kick on cro cop!

and he was almost always outweighed and outsized , always respectful to opponents, went on the sickest run to this day considering how easy it is to get caught in the HW division.

if DC beats Jones in april he might even take over the #1 spot in my eyes,

but the fact that Fedor came back now and is on a 4 fight winstreak (not the best competition but still) makes it hard

Aldo, Anderson, Chuck, Wandy, Shogun, Nogueira, Hughes, and Henderson all have achieved much more than Conor. People forget that Conor just recently won the belt, hasn't even defended it yet. Conor is one hell of a fighter, but still uncomparable to the all time greats. Aldo is still miles ahead of him.

The guy went undefeated for basically 30 fights. He beat Nog, and CroCop in their primes. The year he beat CroCop, and the third Nog fight were in '05. The same year that Justin Eilers fought for the UFC title.

When 99% of MMA experts consider him to be the greatest HW of all time, and arguably the GOAT, I'd say your opinion holds as much water as a cheese grater.

So really just training with bums is the only thing they have in common. The rest pretty much applies to every other champ as well. There are waaaay more differences between them than similarities.

1. One is quiet, the other never stops talking

2. Pride didn't want Fedor as champ, UFC has wanted Conor as champ long before he was.

3. Fedor could beat people anywhere, all of Conor's wins are with the left hand.

4. Fedor was usually the smaller guy in his fights, Conor is usually significantly bigger than his opponent.

What experts? Don't be such a narcissist, Fedor fought guys in an organization where anything goes and the referee wears a earpiece, he's got nothing for the UFC top 10 and he knows it, why is he fighting cans in Japan with a 2-0 record?
