Movies Silver Bullet or Pumpkinhead

Haven't seen Silver Bullet but Pumpkin head is the shit.

Use to joke around and quote Haggis

Say it...Say it...SAY IT!

Loved pumpkinhead. Id love a remake but they would trash it.

Pumpkinhead.

That movie is seriously underrated, while Silver Bullet is seriously overrated.
I liked both of them myself. Pumpkinhead wins tho.

There was a serious lack of good werewolf movies for a long time so silver bullet looks good compared to some of the shit they were putting out at the time.

Pumpkinhead was cool and original and Lance Henrikson is awesome

Silver bullet for me. But that may be due to the memories of my first time seeing it, with family I haven't seen in awhile.

I mean, I enjoy Silver Bullet. It's entertaining. I just don't think it's a very good film. It's kinda hokey at times, almost comical.

? The Howling and An American Werewolf in London literally came out several years earlier. Bizarre take.

Prolly gonna lean Silver Bullet. Liked both but felt more in tune with SB than PH.

Plus Busey reminds me of my uncle!

For some reason I thought "Pumpkinhead" was this guy from Dingbat and the Creeps. Apparently his name is Nobody and his sidekicks Dingbat and Sparerib were always reaching inside him and pulling out useful shit.

Silver Bullet - I've never even watched Pumpkin Head.

The howling series is one of the most unintentionally comical trainwrecks of all time. Even the first one with the black leather dress dominateix she wolf.

American werewolf in London was great.

American werewolf in London was great.

So you admit that not only was there a good werewolf movie not long before Silver Bullet there was a great one.

PS is The Howling not regarded as a good movie anymore?

Either way there were around 30 Werewolf movies released in the 80's and a good number of them were horrid. So yeah Silver bullet looked good in comparison to teen wolf, Full moon high, monster Dog, lone wolf, the midnight hour, etc etc

The Howling was unintentionally comical and had lots of titties and AT THE TIME good transformation effects. But I didn't particularly enjoy it other than for the titties and it doesn't stand the test of time like "the thing" did. Silver Bullet was superior. The howling was certainly more coherent than the rest of the series tho. Howling 2 was hilarious and intentionally bad. 3 was hideous and one of the worst movies ever. 4 was a remake of 1. 5 was a Clue movie in an ancient castle with werewolves. 6 was bad. new moon rising IS the worst movie I have ever seen, not just werewolf movie, worst movie period. New Moon rising makes hellraiser 7 look like saving private Ryan.

I was with you but you had to bring up teen wolf haha. Love that movie.

Love silver bullet. Haim is great. Busey is hilarious. The priest is swell. And the wheel chair. Supped up badass.

SILVER BULLET has its moments but I'm not a big fan. Probably because it didn't live up to the King novel that it adapted, CYCLE OF THE WEREWOLF. At least it didn't IMO. And I was never a Corey Haim fan. Feldman bothered me too for some reason. Meaning that I was never a fan of THE LOST BOYS either. Though I did recently rewatch it for the first time in decades & I liked it a lot more than I expected to. So, maybe I owe SILVER BULLET a rewatch as well.

PUMPKINHEAD to me is a minor classic. I'm a sucker for a spooky atmosphere & a good monster & PUMPKINHEAD has it in spades. I just upgraded my old obsolete DVD of the film with the new special edition Blu-ray steelbook from Scream Factory which has a new 4K remastered print that's supposed to look awesome. I just haven't had a chance to watch it for myself yet.

I actually enjoyed both movies. It's hard to pick a solid winner but I think I'm leaning slightly towards Silver Bullet.

I would probably say the handful of years around Silver Bullet was the only time in history they consistently made some good werewolf movies.
