Anyone here have a side by side? What is it and do you like it?

I’m debating buying one but not really sure what I want yet. We have 2x ATV’s here, between my wife and I. Both Polaris sportsmans, one 1000 and one 850. We seldom use them and I was wondering if it was worth it buying one. I think the enclosed cab would mean we’d go more. My wife disagrees and thinks I’m wasting money.

Someone talk me into it. I’d like an enclosed cab, good suspension and a decent amount of cargo room. My buddy has a Kawasaki ridge and it’s a nice machine. We have snowmobiles as well so just for when the snow is gone

Like a fourwheeler but you both sit in it, side by side. They’re like 30-40k though. I can afford it but I’m going to be disappointed if I don’t feel I get my moneys worth out of it I guess.

My uncle bought one of them $35,000 4 seat Polaris RZR ones....he used it once then it spent years collecting dust before he sold it for a loss.

Basically but you can drive fast on trails and stuff. I had a Suzuki samurai for years, it’s not quite the same because the suspension is way better.

I miss that samurai. It was a fun vehicle. I built it when I was 20 over a winter and it would go places I’d never expect to get through. I lost interest and sold it

You're not satisfied with your ATVs? Shit, I'd rather have an ATV than a side by side. You can squeeze into tighter spots and go places you otherwise can't with a SXS. The only benefit to a SXS, I think, is it may be a little more comfortable and allow you to take kids or other people along for the ride.

I don't have a brand to recommend but make sure you get one with a turbo. It makes a big difference.

It’s not that we’re not satisfied, we just don’t go a lot. I would keep my 1000 because it’s only got around 1500 miles on it and the trade in of the 850 (2014) would likely be so bad, it wouldn’t be worth trading in.

I really like the Polaris expeditions but for that money, I can’t see why they don’t turbo them. They barely have more power than my fourwheeler. Really disappointing. It sucks all the turbo machines have zero cargo room because cargo room is important. Something like a general or expedition with a turbo would ne sweet.

She’s cool, I like having her around. Plus then she can drive and I can drink beer in the passenger seat.

I even brought her moose hunting this year when I got my first ever tag. She was the one who fired the shot (out of a 45/70 lol).
