Justin doesn’t suck but he chokes in big fights that’s for sure. He almost never steps up to the plate. If Alvarez is a can then Gaethje just plain sucks

And? How does that have anything to do with what I said?Never being wobbled, hurt, cut, finished or even remotely in trouble is more impressive than tapping out multiple times in your prime.

Yea real estate agents and halfway fighters like Edson Barbosa or Justin Gathje. Maybe getting knocked out by a 155 bjj blackbelt part time fighter would bring Khabib up a couple spots on your list? No. It means he was fighting a weight class below his natural one and two of his four good wins were against blown up FWs lmao
what if you’re a WW fighting FWs and real estate agents though?

I agree. It's easy to pick apart the legacy of athletes from the past. Babe Ruth / Jordan / Namath / Pele / Fedor, etc. competed and excelled in their own eras, amd were clearly better than most if not all of their peers. How they would fare today is fun to fantasize about, but it is impractical.I don't think so. Fighters are always limited by their era. Twenty years from now, training science and nutrition might be at a level where a guy like Ngannou can cut to 170lbs. It's about what that fighter did during his own era, not what is relative to today.
I like Gaethje but I call it like I see it. He's a durable wrecking ball that sacrifices his head/torso in order to land damaging leg kicks. That's why for a decent amount of time I called him Homer Simpson. He was tougher than a rusty nail.Justin doesn’t suck but he chokes in big fights that’s for sure. He almost never steps up to the plate.
