I'm a custodian (cleaner) in a small crew, we work in different places but we mostly clean offices. One of my coworkers had to clean a large building with a lot of women in it. While he was cleaning the toilets, apparently someone saw him taking used female hygiene products out of the bin. He put them in his pockets and took them home allegedly.

The boss found out and he wants to fire him.

I think it's a little extreme and maybe he just needs some therapy.

I´m 100% certain you were that guy but I don´t think you need to be fired over that, you were doing the world a favor by reusing those products.

If he is capable of that, he is almost certainly capable of more destructive intrusions within his capacity as an employee.

I would fire him without hesitation.
