We have a community group chat and each year in summer the same guy reaches out for a place to stay. He is from South Africa and works as a surf instructor over the summer. Comes over with no accom and relies onother people to get a place. I told him to be honest and tell me how much he makes, if it is low he can stay for 4 days MAX free but if he has the funds he can stay at 20 euro per day and regardless anything over 4 days would be 20 euro per day. Guy agrees to it but long story short racks up about 200 euro.
He only gets paid at the end of the month so I let it roll until then. The group chat is a helpful community based place so my aim wasn't to get the money so I didn't push it. I told him the charge was just to incentivise him to move in with someone else. Guy comes across as down to earth, trustworthy/honor bound sort of chill guy.
As it goes on he starts becoming more territorial and standoffish. He also went on a spectrum from being a ''chill guy'' to displaying severe right wing beliefs. I don't mind or care if someone is right wing but the fact that he was posing as something else the entire time just erked me. He was on the extreme end, ergo we must round up all immigrants without trial because some of them might be criminals/Palastinians need to be wiped out, stuff like that. It led to some frustrating end of the day converations I didn't want to deal with. Of course I also got a lecture about SA/ farmland owners as per the musk commentary.
-more than once he disapears for lenghty periods sometimes until 1AM without word (he has no key) only for me to find him talking on his phone outside the house
-I came home from work to find him sitting on the doorsteps without calling me
- one night we were drinking some beers outside the house, on the way back I had to take a piss and ran ahead to the house. I come back outside only to see no trace of him. He disapeared with no response for 5 hours.
- during this time I was also feeding him/ covering some costs when he needed them with a promise from him to pay back double.
On the last night he stayed in a conversation about Rugby I stated that in terms of international recognistion the All Blacks ''Newzealand'' have a better marketing strategy that makes people percieve them as the best Rugby team. I wasn't stating they were the best, just that they have that sort of Mike Tyson image that makes them appear to be the baddest team on earth even though they're not. The dude didn't listen and went on a rant about how SA was factually the best team in earth and wouldn't go to bed until I admitted it. At no point did I say they weren't only that NZ have better branding. It was fucking weird like he was making arguments and winning them in his own head. At this point I had enough of him and I guess he got that too.
Next day he says he found a place. After this I don't hear from him and he doesn't reply any more. Owes me about 200 euro. He had already paid 320 for previous stay and even that he underpayed. 60 of the 200 is due from the last.
- guy prob takes in 2000-3000 per month from the gig so he has the money.
- he is not working in the country legally
- he uses deception to manipulate people into getting a place to stay
- supports mass deportation of illegals even though he is an illegal
