Should this guy get fired?

I'm a custodian (cleaner) in a small crew, we work in different places but we mostly clean offices. One of my coworkers had to clean a large building with a lot of women in it. While he was cleaning the toilets, apparently someone saw him taking used female hygiene products out of the bin. He put them in his pockets and took them home allegedly.

The boss found out and he wants to fire him.

I think it's a little extreme and maybe he just needs some therapy.

I don't know. Maybe he's checking if they're really biodegradable and whether or not you could use them as a substrate to grow peppers?

Would fire if I don’t know anything about him and he’s pretty quiet/kept to himself. If I like him and know him as a decent guy I would just tell him don’t ever do that again and keep it on file

He's a good worker, never a complaint, friendly, doesn't look like a deviant either.

Yeah I would go with my gut. If he just has a kink and is pretty normal and decent then yea I would keep him. If I have a bad feeling or don’t know the guy that well he got to go

Not really, usually what we do is throw the used products in a garbage bag and take it to a container. This guy decided to put it in his pockets.
