Crime Should this cop be fired?

It's a hard job for sure and deserves respect no matter how you feel about LEOs one way or another. Our societies need them, and its only getting harder every year.
I'm a fan of police, but that's not entirely true for all departments. Small town cops who may have to respond to a robbery once every ten years, have got it pretty good. I personally think the area I live in is over-policed. We've got our own rather large department, and there are no major crimes ever going on. All they used to do was bust people for weed possession, and they can't even do that anymore, since it's legal now. As far as I can tell, the average shift for a cop in my town is made up parking and watching for speeders in between trips to Tim Hortons.

That said, better to have them and not need them, than need them and not have them.

Yeah I'm certain it depends on your area. More urban areas like my own definitely the more the better, but some places I could see being over-policed, without a doubt. Small towns don't need a big force. They can always get backed up from state police or others like county task forces.

However, I'm sure if you ask them.. they'll tell you the reason there is no/less crime is BECAUSE of their force size.. so that is how they justify it.
