Should the winner of Romero vs Luke wait for Whittaker or defend the belt against Souza?

They say Whittaker's health problem is serious and that it could take a while for him to recover, right?

So, what do you guys think should happen:
Put another belt on stand by mode and wait for the real champion RW to be ready for the unification?
Or do you think that MW has already wasted too much time with Bisping and GSP and you want to see the belt being defended even if it´s an interim?

(Souza vs Luke 2 would be an amazing rematch, too bad Luke pulled out in 2016).

Do we know how long Whittaker is out for? Doesn't he have staph in his stomach or something crazy. It could be awhile

As long as it’s not over 1 year for him to come back, defend interim is fine

Souza needs to fight Weidman
I like this fight, always wanted to see it. But Weidman is 1-3. Souza only truly lost to Whittaker. They´re in different moments of their career.

Weidman already had his chances, let Souza have his. Imho.

Depends on how long Whitaker will be out.

I hate to say it but if Whittaker is in serious condition the interim might have to be defended.. I think the winner defending against Souza might be the likely scenerio

Defend an Interim belt is soooo stupid

But if Rob is out for a while...

Chris won his last fight Souza won his last, they are close enough in the rankings to fight each other

I know what you´re saying, but it´s the same situation at WW, Wonderboy will always be up in the rankings, but is it a good idea to keep matching him up against guys who have neve fought for the title?

rockhold/jacare 2 would be great but im also pretty excited for rockhold/romero

jacare/Weidman winner gets the other winner and MW might get back on track

This is why there needs to be a union.. There need to be set guildines as to how to approach these situations, rather then let the UFC make the final call.

I understand it’s their business. But sometimes a collective bargaining agreement is necessary, to neutralize power.

Weidman and Rockhold unify LHW/MW.

Whitaker ducked Rockhold and the other fights already happened.

I don't get what you're asking.
