Honestly, it's amazing he's training and being a fireman....
but

will it interfere in his pursuit of the title? It doesn't make sense, he could be injured.

i think its pretty stupid to still be a fireman (well, you see miocic's jokes on the embedded and things like that, and, well....)

werdum will maul the part time fighter. haha, thats how bad the HW division is, a part time fighter is fighting for the title, and he got a decent shot at becoming the champ

First thing he should do is see a Ear Nose and Throat specialist.

Dude sounds like he's gargling broken glass and gravel when he speaks.

Is he making "f**k you" money?

Will he be making "f**k you" money?

Nah I think he should keep the job. Last time I checked Mark Kerr is a used car salesman. Don't want to end up like Mark Kerr.

well, mark kerr fought 100 years ago when the fighter pay was a joke

pretty sure being a fireman is much more important of a job than professionally fighting.

he's probably not rolling around in reebok money

He is a good firefighter

I think he just likes being a fire fighter. Some people need other things than fighting. It actually helps keep them grounded. But if it's cause the UFC is not paying Jim enough, well that sucks.

We're all fans. But that's all we are. Why should he quit being a fireman? So he can train more? He obviously likes doing if he hasn't quit by now. I'd rather get paid to save peoples lives than get paid to punch someone. Cooliox hit the nail on the head. Being a fireman is more important than being a fighter will ever be.

I'd say it's entirely up to him. I have no idea what his priorities are.

He chews on it to improve his jaw...part of his training.

Great benefits that he can ride out into a solid retirement? Unless he is stacking millions from fight pay he has to consider the next 30+ years after he is to old to compete.

I say he is being smart.

I'm pretty sure a fireman will make more over his life than 95% of UFC fighters. My next door neighbor is 48 doesnt even work he's a retired FF and pulls 125K. He made wore working of course but whole package is he lives to like 80 is worth millions.

Fireman work 2 days straight then get 5 days off. Meaning they get paid to just be there most of the time sleeping or working out or making chili or whatever. Its a great job to have a 2nd job.

Pretty sure more $ in pro athlete in legit org than firefighter.

People act like firemen are working 24/7 or some shit

Stipe, like most firefighters, likely sits around waiting for a fire 80% of the time and goes out on the odd one. During that time he probably has a coach and sparring partner with him training in the rec center gym on-site, especially when he's not the first one out on duty aka red alert lol

in other words, he can train while he's at work and likely does

Literally, I can't think of another job where someone gets paid as much and has as much down-time WHILE ON THE CLOCK to train LOL maybe a coach of some sort? I mean c'mon guys no-brainer
