Shorts: Sprawl vs NOGI...

Damn, dude, how big are your legs? Have you measured your thighs?

I wear 38's in jeans so Steve told me to order 40's (in the Sprawls) and just tighten the waist. They fit fantastically on me and I have fairly massive legs (I squat over 400, deadlift nearly 500). With the slit up the side, I have no difficulty kicking high, although high kicks aren't really my thing. They're comfortable, mobile, and spacious all around. I haven't had a chance to do high front kicks in practice yet so I'll post the results on that when I do.

Also, I'm definitely feeling Colin on the looks (NoGi and Sprawl). These are the slickest looking shorts I have ever owned, without a doubt. If I wasn't concerned about taking the best care of them, I'd wear them to every social event possible. Hell, I'm probably just going to stop buying other shorts, I'll own pairs just to go to parties. The loose-fitting rashguard isn't terribly loose on me (XL, I'm a big fella) but that just makes it all the much sexier. When I pulled them from the mail, I put them on right away and just stared at myself in the mirror like a 13-year-old girl. I was like Ron Burgundy: "I look good. I mean really guuhd. Hey everyone! Come here and look at how good I look!"

I'll post some pics up today if I get the chances I finally got my camera and was able to take pics of both shorts on me. I have 29 inch thighs...

BTW to those wondering the nogi are awesome to roll in very comfortable shorts...

Here is a pick of the size 38 sprawls on top of the 36 nogi so you can kinda see the big difference in size, the pictures of me wearing them didn't come out so I have to retake them and post them at a later date.

Cool pic! You got to remember that the Sprawls have an elastic waist band and a flex pannel in the legs, and ayou can get the slits in them. Great pic though, you can really see the difference.

No need for the flex pannel or the splits becuase the whole shorts stretch

Yep the nogi are all stretchy not extremely but just enough, and believe me on the sprawls no slit no flex panel will help me cause in the hips theres nothing that gives and that is where my problem is and actually if I hike up the sprawls I can get somewhat of the leg/hip room I need but then the shorts are half way up in my ass =\.

I'm not having any of those issues with the Sprawl. The flex in the inseam allows me the room to kick (plenty high in the front), while the polyester provides more durability and less stretch for my opponent (or myself) to grab and hold.

I would like to own a pair of those brown and white NoGi's.

I just got a pair of nogi shorts and they are great.
Chris-let's get this going, I want to carry your product. They passed my test with flying colors.

guys SPLIT or non-SPLIT? Im more striker than grappler

I like the split in mine, I don't see any downside of it.

Definitely split. That's who the split versions are designed for: high kickers.

Get the split, I have both and the split is alot better for striking.

First,
I am not Chris (to avoid confusion). I would personally like to thank ECM for this review...I am (and know Chris is too) really honored to be put up in the same class as SPRAWL. They are a great company and have an awesome idea/product, as well as service.

As for the drawstring: The idea is to buy a size up, and tie the waist if needed (this sport has weight cutters like no other).

As Chris stated above, we are looking into the tracking and plastic packaging. (Thank you for the input)

We are also going to send you the new brown shirt (you're free to keep the original one) Just because we feel you kind of got hosed on that. Everything else of ours matches, this was just an unfortunate mishap on our part.

All in all, it was a pretty cool review, and again, we thank you for doing so.

Lastly, Since we're still doing the actual clothing pics for the site right now (It'll take a little bit) Here's a shot of the back at ADCC and the front at X1 in Hawaii. Hopefully they help.

Hey so how about that free shirt? I see you guys have a nice selection now and I did just get my girl to get me your jet and blue shorts so I could use that shirt, brown to hopefully match my surf shorts or preferably a Black/Red "No Excuses" to match my jet shorts, hook a brother up.

thanks =)

I like the split on a woman :) Just kidding

To me the split just looks so cool, oh and the reason above I can see why you like it as well. :)

I have scissors and if anyone that buys our shorts wants them split I will cut them for you and you can hem the seam when you get them

I have a quick question! I've orderd some Nogi OE's from the US to the UK, does anyone have any idea how long they will take to arrive? I'm also curious if anyone else has these shorts in the uk! :icon_lol:

Should take about 5 days.
