The things I go through for my Sherbros....
It helped that I placed the Shadface first

I for one am not buying that story. :P

Haha, i understand perfectly. That's lovely how your determination works, do you ever put a timelimit on yourself to finish something, or do you just keep going until you're happy with it? Do you often go back and think how you could have done things differently, or added something extra? Or do can you feel when you've reached your goal, like "yep that's kinda what i was shooting for, anything more now and it'll be too much"? Sorry for all the questions, i'm just interested :)

The time limit always seems to be 15 minutes. 'Yea I can knock that out in 15 minutes", but this deadline is never met. :D

One of the worst parts is finding images/video to work with. The original Rogan elephant took about 30 minutes to make, but finding the proper elephant ear video took 15-20 as well as the background. The same for every single piece in that shoop, so that's like 2 hours+ of Googling. (I wonder how many gay porn videos Mike had to watch for his Shoop). I am sure everyone can relate, unless someone here has some top secret info that I don't know about. Total time on that one was 8 hours plus. Seems to be an hour or two average including Google time. Longer with the more complicated .gifs.

Yes, constantly thinking of how things could have been done better. You look back on your Shoops and say "Ahh, it needed a bit more yellow". Or "Damnit, should have made his eye dodge to the left at such and such point". I bet most Shoopers are the same. Sometimes satisfied; sometimes "It's good enough for Sherdog"; other times amazed that things did work out.

Damnit this was a request but I accidentally deleted the PM so I forgot who it was for. I'm getting too old for this shit! (personal joke between me and Mike)

I don't see any 'trash' folder in the PM area. Is there a top secret one I don't know about?

Haha that's awesome! I sent you that gif, you nailed it!

LOL, I lucked out and just Googled animated gay rough sex and that was one of the first results (but yes, as a hetro male and father, it wasn't fun).

I'm glad to hear that! I spent WAY to much time on the se7en gif (10+ hours?) but I did learn a ton about how NOT to do it (and I learned to NEVER do anything like it again!).

I'm like that too (well, minus the "amazed" part since, due to user error and incompetence, things never "work out" for me!).
I really enjoy playing in PS (and sometimes illustrator or AE) and part of that enjoyment is the complete lack of pressure/stress. If I was doing this as a job, under deadline and to someone else's specifications, I'd still enjoy it but probably not quite as much.

To add to the time discussion:

This shoop was a realitively quick one, at about an hour. The actual PS work went quickly but I spent over 30 minutes finding decent headshots of Cyborg and RHSG.

With most of my shoops I end up with a ton of unused stuff (therefore wasted time). I normally like to do all the Googling first, prior to PSing. Therefore I end up getting multiple reference images so that I have options once I start the actually shooping.

I also waste time finding source material/ideas that I just never get around to before someone else (ex. I was going to do a Usual Suspects gif and poster but never got around to it but someone else did and saved me the time).

For me, I find the hardest part of the whole process is the initial idea stage. My lack of a sense of humor makes finding something others might find entertaining challenging.

The stress I feel is not knowing how to do something, but figuring it out gives satisfaction. Smashing it with a sledge hammer approach seems to work sometimes. Maybe frustration would be a better word. But yea, overall it is relaxing, so I agree. And hush you!! Your gifs are top notch! The best I have seen on this forum. I am sure what took you 10, will soon take you 5.. etc...

MastiffMike hitting over 9000

Living on a rock, I am not up on Western slang. What does "hitting over 9000" mean?

Nice my brother. Glad you liked it.

"Good enough for Sherdog" Lol, sometimes i wonder why people come here to get appreciated, but then again if someone says something nice to you on Sherdog it means you really did something special.

More great stuff Mike, I keep watching this one over and over lol.

Thanks! I wanted to try another "no nose" gif to see if it'd turn out as funny & disturbing as the others. IMO it did.

Now get yourself back to shooping!
