"SHOGUN" needs to show up saturday

Shogun had injuries and barely trained for the Dan Hendo fight as well.

but he knew what to expect from Hendo, Jones was relatively new at the time, no one knew what to do, and some don't. I think it was Rashad or Machida who said Jones is a guy you need to fight twice, and I think Shogun would do much better, (not necessarily win) but give a good fight

We should do more to dispel the myth of the dual Shogun. There is only one man named Shogun. If he loses, he is still the same. If he wins, he is no one different. There is only one Shogun. There is no weird physically ontological (and surprisingly convenient) dualism.

I say convenient because the bad Shogun, or the unhealthy Shogun only shows up to lose fights, and hence loses fights, whereas the healthy, and motivated Shogun shows up and wins all the time. I mean, it is spot on every time. Weird shit man.

Tye same shogun always fights. That's just some excuse his fanboys use for his not so great performances.

But when other guys fight poorly, it's gecause they suck, and not because of lay offs, injuries, bad luck or motivation.

if your sure its been said over and over then why are you saying it again?

I don't think he is going to. He looks like he is in good shape, but I see Gus winning the fight.

Im more interested to see if he throws a leg kick. He hasnt thrown a kick since 2010

And what is it with people thinking Gustaffson is the answer to Jones, same with Glover. These guys have demonstrated absolutely NOTHING that says to me they can even hang with jones! OOOH glover destroyed his opponents (who were nobodys) and gustaffson hasn't beat really anyone who ever had a shot at Jones. So where do you guys see that they are viable contenders?

Gus has nothing for Jones.

Glover is an offensive BJJ practitioner (it means he actually sumbits people in mma bous unlike all bjj black belts that fought Jones before). So if Vitor managed to pull Jones into his guard and almost submit him, maybe Glover will finish his work.

Doesn't matter if SHOGUN shows up; this is the Gus Dynasty. Deal with it ;)

i think shogun has a legit chance, but only if he comes in properly conditioned which is a huge if.

my guess is he is competitive for a round or 2, then gasses and gus puts him away.

He's had knee surgeries(no athlete would be the same after 3 major knee surgeries) and as a result is very inconsistent and rarely fights up to his potential.

He can look horrible against Mark Coleman and look amazing against Lyoto Machida. That's just how it is.
