I just saw this fight for the first time after hearing about the robbery it was for so long. Close fight, but Shogun still clearly won.

Round 1: Could have scored it either way
Round 2: Shogun
Round 3: Machida probably edged it with his flurry at the end, but this too, could have been scored either way
Round 4: Shogun
Round 5: Shogun

Where's the argument that Machida won? Horrible decision by the judges.

1 That was almost 10 years ago.
2 We had 904350897 memes about this.

Here you go:

Old news but yeah. At least Shogun righted that wrong in a more specular fashion in the rematch.

The rematch was MMA justice at it's finest

Don't leave it up to the judges. Right or wrong, rounds that are really close generally go to the champion.

I remember back in 2009 when the fight happened there was nothing but threads about this up until the time they rematched

The match was close, period

Shogun won the rematch

and what did that get him? massacred by Jon Jones. literally assaulted

But the three rounds that Shogun won weren't really close; He was landing the harder and more significant shots.

There are far, far worse "robberies" out there to complain about.

Shogun showed whats up in the rematch.

I dont understand why people see second fight as act of justice....Machida did not do anything wrong. He gave his best, while judges clearly did not.

Royally SCREEEWWWWWED

Yeah, we know. Was this thread really necessary?

Best thing about the first fight was in the post fight press conference Shogun was asked if he learned anything about Machida in this fight and he said he learned that he can't hurt me.

It wasnt a "robbery " but I did have shogun edging Lyoto out.Bottom line in re-match shogun couldn't of won in a more satisfyingly way.

Machida won the first 3 rounds easily. If you can't chop a guy down with 20 leg kicks, you arent doing it right. Someone had to say it.
