Why isnt Shinya Aoki in the UFC?

He has only lost in recent time to Alvarez and Melendez with a finish over Alvarez and only a decision loss to Gil.

Gil had a razor close fight with the former champ and is already back for another TS.

Alvarez has his nuts gobbled on here quite often.

Is Shinya Aoki UFC material?

If no, why not?

If yes, who would you like to see him fight at either 145 or 155?

He's definitely UFC material but everyone knows he chooses not to be in it.

It's no secret that he has no interest in joining the UFC. He makes too much money in the other promotions to play in the UFC.

No... Anyone with a sprawl could beat him as shown by Gil and Alvarez.

yes he deserves a 2 fight deal his opening opponent? hmm that i will have to think on

He doesn't want to come to UFC. Right now he is the BIG fish in little lake. He is a star in Japan doing what he does, and he's satisfied with that. He has already tested the international waters and failed.

He deserves a spot, yes, and he could certainly win some fights. But honestly he probably wouldn't be top 5 and maybe not even top 10.

hes been ufc material but its been heavily speculated that he is managed by organized crime and they wont allow him

in interviews, he has said that he wants to fight in the major US promotions more often "but its not that simple" or "things are more complicated" and other things of that nature. its been speculated that theyll let him fight in copromotions like bellator and sf, but not completely leave to the ufc

"UFC material" means nothing these days. But yes he should be fighting the best in the world. It's impressive how easily he's been taking out his opponents that have fought some other great fighters but if he doesn't step up it'd be such a waste of potential.

What do you mean yet? He has been for a long time.

he knows he can make more fighting in Asia where he's a star. He could beat most people in the UFC but he wouldn't beat the top guys.

Silly question.

He's been "UFC material" for nearly a decade. UFC has wanted to sign him for years but one interview he gave awhile ago gave me the vibe that it's not really up to him.

I don't think he'd be champ but he'd definitely be top 10.

I don't remember his fight with Gilbert being close at all.

I don't remember his fight with Gilbert being close at all.

I never said that.

What I meant was he only lost a decision(better than being finished) to Gil, who had a razor close fight with Benson and another TS this year. I was implying Aokis losses are not shameful what so ever.
