Hoping someone will post some videos from the competition.
Also if anyone feels like explaining it to a novice (me) it would be appreciated.
I find it all fascinating.
Biggest thing out of the WSM competition is it's never static the events change every year so you never really know what will happen next. The events look like they will be happening in California for the next 4 years due to a huge financial and location commitment by the city of Sacramento. As far as events go they have a few regular events that happen more often but the interest is in the changing dynamic.

There won't be much footage for a while, TV is broadcast Christmas time, usually you get some sneaky looks though. Any questions just ask bro. It's a cool as fuck sport.

Thank you folks.
@Phlog, how do these things usually go, like is it over a few days, what types of events, how do they judge it?

This is a several days event dictated by recording for TV, events are loading, frame carries, farmers walks, atlas stones, squats, deadlifts, over head presses, keg tosses, truck train or anything heavy pulls etc. Anything testing strength, power and Many shows are single day affairs.

How do they judge it? It's different points for where you place in an event, based on how quickly you complete a load, or how many reps you complete or how high you can throw a keg or whatever. The second and third places in the group stage compete in a stone off (220kg for reps) until one quits then the top two go through to the finals.

He just doesn’t have a good grip. He also did terrible on the frame at the Shaw Classic.

There’s a video on Twitter of him almost unable to move it even trying it backwards which was ridiculous lol

it was the same 825lb frame they used in the 2018 final that only 4 guys finished. It’s a tough event and can’t use figure 8s

Those barrels were really big between that and the frame the bigger guys/ better grip had a good time on it.

Felix is an ANIMAL with long arms and a crazy crazy amazing grip. love seeing him do well.

I can't believe Obie took an event. Good for him

Thank you folks.

World's is done over several days. Today is day one of the qualifiers. There are five heats. Whoever has the most points in each heat at the end moves on to the finals. Second and third in each heat go to a stone off, winner advances.

Some events are for time, some are for reps, some are for max weight.
