LOL look at the size of the interviewer . haha

Because he's so dominant in the Atlas when it comes to WSM if as long as it's the finisher with Tom in the Competition there will be pressure for guys to try to build a lead on him before getting to the event to have a shot.

You would have to have a 3 to 5 point lead going into the atlas stones. It's crazy how fast he finished. Brian had to use extra effort trying to keep the 4th stone on the platform. Even that perfectly would not have made up the difference.

Albatross is the perfect name for him his wingspan engulfs the stone , similar to Thor , but he has better dexterity

Worthy Champ, good Fight for Brian on perhaps his last golden chance.

Tom will reign for awhile .

Agreed; the laddie is only 27 and so just about hitting his peak. Barring injury he could have at least another 3 - 5 years at the very top.

Was going to say this: if you had to choose any lift in WSM as your best event, it would be the Stones. It's the equivalent of a fighter with heavy hands always having a puncher's chance going into the last round.

Potentially even longer. Lokk at Brian and jf still making the finals at their age
While I would agree but Brian looked much better this year then last. He dropped like 25 kilos in bodyweight if he did not have a poor performance in the melody an the log he would have taken this overall. He still could win next less weight and better cardio. Look at Mark Félix he almost made the cut at 50.

You misunderstand my point. The fact there are older guys like Brian and jf still doing well shows that Tom could be at or near the top for way more than 5 years

What a wholesome finish, that interview was great.

Tom absolutely will probably always get to the final barring catastrophe, he has about 15-20 years that he can be at the top now. I get the feeling he is going to stick with it, the autism helps in that regard, autistic people usually don't like change much.

You never hear a sniff of injury from him, genetics and training is on point, his body is able to carry the weight happily.

Honestly God only knows what he could push too. As his grip develops and his static strength continues to rise... Good luck to anyone smaller trying to beat him.

Credit to Shaw for making it a show in the final, what a dominant strongman he is. Hope he grows from this and doesn't see it as a changing of the guard. I'd love to see him develop Brian 3.0 a bit more.

I've never wanted to look at a spreadsheet so much as I have this past week, nail-biting final to the end. So glad Tom won, shame Luke couldn't make the podium though.

I wish my gym had strongman equipment soni could really put jnto perspective how crazy strong these guys are

Same, I've been looking for some equipment near me no luck so far.

What puts it into context is the deadlift, squat and overhead dumbbell clean and press, I'm basically at around 50% of what the elite lift. Which is mad, because I'm not weak.

There are some seriously big lads at my gym. They use the Atlas Stones, Log Press etc. I played around with the Log Press and it took me all my time to lift it to my shoulders, and that was without any plates on
it.

Talk about a reality check.<30>

If you're even in the same ball park as what the top guys lift, you're stronger than the vast majority of people. By orders of magnitude.

One pro Strongman was asked what it takes to compete at the top level. He replied that a good rule of thumb was Deadlifting at least 800lb for reps. If you can't do that, he said, don't bother turning up. You'd just be wasting your own and everyone else's time.

Someone like Endeavor could take it over without breaking a sweat and make Brian the face for the brand.

IMG who own/run World's Strongest Man is a subsidiary of Endeavor.
