Mark Henry was fast and explosive for a man his size, he would have Matched up well with the early to mid 2000s field , he has an Arnold win too..

I was retarded for saying he wasn't strong enough. I wonder why he never featured on wsm

His WWE contract too much money to risk injury, he was the initial Arnold Winner and he shocked the field and greatly impressed Kaz who was one of the announcers

@Phlog Casuals favour Shaw but the Hardcores know its not a Given. If anything the Hype Shaw is getting might Motivate the Field, Shaw will have to absolutely earn it.

I really haven’t been paying attention, do we know if the events are more static this year?

I got the impression that Shaw has been fixing issues and has got re engaged with the training again, I'd say we might see his best and it wouldn't surprise me if he dominates some events. You don't want to face a motivated Shaw!

I'm pretty excited to find out!

Yoke, log ladder keg toss, Hercules hold and deadlift, stones.

You know Mark Felix is going to win the hold, he might get the deadlift to if it's for reps and he's been working on his leg toss a lot.

Kaz actually tried his hand at, well, let's call it "early MMA" back in '89, and fought Chris Dolman. TKO via leg kicks if I recall correctly.

Edit: Chris Dolman also had a Sambo rules fight against Geoff Capes, won by submission (leg lock).

I'm not sure that Felix will actually make it to the finals though. He's old and to be honest he hasn't really been in the top 20 for quite some time to be honest.

From the looks of it they postponed today's events due to the weather. I wonder if they will do all of the qualifying events in one day tomorrow. Or scrap the rest day.

I remember one strongman back in the day saying Mark Henry was the strongest person he'd ever met overall. He could have done very well.

Always found it odd that in this day and age they still don't show it live and try and keep results a secret for 6 months.

Saying that was always a good treat o watch it over Xmas in the UK.

Magnus Ver Magnusson

4 WSM wins in 6 years, with 2 runner up finishes in the 2 years he didn't win.

And he was in Kingdom of Heaven. I think Big Z is the greatest, is Konstantine Janashia competing this yr I always thought he could be a future champ after he did well in 2016.

Magnus Samuelssen was in The Last Kingdom.
