He's landed similar knees against a lot of people. The spinning hook kick, the step up and knees from the clinch, head and body kicks, his left hook and a short cross seem like his favorite weapons but he was showcasing a nice long jab vs Neal and the elbows in the clinch at a couple different points definitely surprised me. His go to takedowns are the outside trip from over under and he loves setting up uchi mata throws with his back against the fence. On top he's got insane control and some of the most violent gnp I've seen, he's punched a lot of people unconscious while posturing up in their guards....fucking nasty, otherwise his submissions are guillotines, darces and rear nakeds. His defense is a bit of a tall man's defense, he's got the length, height and striking to avoid a lot of shots and while he moves his feet decently he's not too defense oriented when striking, could definitely work on his head movement, tucking the chin and blocking and/or shelling up better.
I'd like to see him continue to grow, I've seen him hit a really nice double leg vs Danil Prikaza (whos legit and good) in M1, and I know he worked with Usman at Sanford on single and double leg entries. I'd like to see him chain different takedown attempts and trips against the cage better too, he was very one and done on attempts vs Geoff. Shoot a single, if they defend don't give space and come up on a body lock, too to lift and when they adjust look to trip and maybe change direction as they try to reestablish their balance etc. He could be a little more varied and set up his takedowns more. Would like to see some low kicks, he kicks well to the body and head but doesn't throw leg kicks oddly, for such a long guy it's a nice tool to have while sitting back and forcing your opponent to close distance. Besides that, I just want to see his jab more on display, it looked good, and maybe he can open up the cross and throw it more from distance too.
Shavkats great, I want to see his takedown defense and cardio tested more so I hope he does infact fight Belal, Burns or Colby next. I honestly think he has the skill, athletic talent, mentality and time/youth to become a champion and even an impressive champion at that potentially. How he develops and adjusts tells us a lot but he has more room to grow than most talent I've seen...good with so many different weapons and strong from so many different spots and ranges. Only 28, if he can keep working with Hooft and back home, real championship level talent whether he falls short of it or not.
