Yeah.. but that would make it kind of creepy for an 18yo to sleep with a 40yo to.. but then again.. some older women have come on to me.. i was a waiter on a cruise ship about a month after turning 18..

You'd still show up on the registry and that's what brands you for life. No one is going to care enough to look at the details of your case, they will just see SEX OFFENDER in their heads when they google your name. It's going to affect future employment opportunities as well as brand you a neighborhood pariah wherever you move.

I think it depends on the jurisdiction with what gets you on that registry. Public urination might qualify in one jurisdiction but not in the next county over.

I have a cousin on that registry. He fucked this underage girl when he was like 23. He disgusts me, so no sympathy for him on my end. People in the family try to justify his behavior and he's certainly a nice caring man, but he also got charged with fucking a minor so....

It definitely gives an ugly stigma to have your name on that list. If you're trying to explain why you're on it then you've already lost.
