That being said, there are lots of languages and cultures that don’t make a distinction between the words venomous and poisonous. I was talking to a Japanese herpetologist about snakes and he said a poisonous snake. My brain wanted to correct him, but he’s a fucking herpetologist and knows a lot more than I do. It’s basically semantics at that point.
