Seriously, who's going to end up as the 155 champion?

He barely won the second match against Nate. I think it was like 49-48 or something close like that on the score cards. He avenged the loss but let's not pretend it was like Jon jones rematching someone and not leaving any doubt.
True but Nate is worst possible matchup for Conor - zombie with endless cardio and great bjj. That is tailor made matchup to neutralize Conor strenghts and expose his weaknesses, especially across 5 rounds. Even if he is much less succesful fighter than someone like Dustin Poirier, Nate will always be harder fight for Conor. With all that said, Conor showed power of preparation and focus in his rematch with Nate. Those two things can bring you far, even if matchup is all but favorable.

And yes I agree, 48-47 is not dominant but it was still a clean win, comapred to a bad loss in first one.

Khabib is one of my favourite fighters ever. However his retirement is good news. This is because lightweights have nothing on him and he's fought everyone i wanted to see him fight. I don't care about khabib tony anymore. Firstly, in my humnle opinion, i don't see conor becoming champ. He's untested and the others are equally as good or better than him. Also the others probably hit just as hard as him, so i don't think he stands out as much. A few bullet points.
  • Charles and gaethje are the only ones who haven't been matched up. You guys think they're going to be matched up? If so who wins? Justin has bad bjj, but can oliveira take and hold him down? Can he out strike him?
  • Can rda make one last run and win the belt?
  • Can any of these guys be a dominant champ or is the belt going to be passed around?

I think the belt will be passed around a bit. I hope Oliveira wins it for a time, would be a pretty cool feather in his cap.

Lol keeping on with the inane trolling I guess, I mean it's about as clever as Cejudo's faux retirement strategy after his lil lady left him, poor little feller forgot he never had the one thing that Conor, Jones et al had going for them, the ability to garner big ppv numbers. The UFC has just moved on down the road, like us well almost all of us, keep your chin up. Nothing's as vicious as a twitter warrior eh bud?
Cejudo by KO second round
Volkanovski is an oversized midget scared of a proper sized midget.

No seriously, you are taking this up the ass way too hard everytime even though I told you I'm fucking around.
Though I do believe Henry has a good chance to beat him. All the points you mentioned now I've made a detailed thread already explaining it better too so you agree with me.
Then :eek::eek:s in that thread came at me saying I'm "judging" Cejudo, as if I'm not the biggest fan of his here.

You all are snowflakes in end.

Yeah I don't know either.

Over years of watching, I tend to go with guy who is peaking with momentum, and right now that guy is Charles Oliveira.

TBH, Connor at this moment is a bit of unknown. His Cerrone fight was impressive but short, and against a shot Cerrone. Im not a Connor fan, but his toolset has the ability to beat anyone in the top 5.

However, If you take Connor's power away, he's just an average fighter:

Khabib was his nemesis because could take him down on the first exchange, and wear out his power on the first takedown. Nate was his cryptonite because he could soak up his power and make him tired.

I dont really care who comes out on top, I just hope we get most of the matchups. This could be the greatest belt saga in the history of MMA.

Divs aren't always open (or even good on the top) when the champ retires or goes away. And nothing against Khabib, he is a unique talent, most dominant LW. But if he doesn't return then LW becomes very interesting. They don't do tourneys (though they should), but this would be like a tourney with Conor, Poirier, Oliveira, RDA, Chandler, Hooker and Gaethje all pretty much 1 win away from the top.

Yes dummy that's how you take away mobility and takedowns. Khabib rushed the finished because he was compromised, he couldn't sit back and talk to his opponents like he usually does. The fight was quicker but Khabib was in more danger than his other fights. Gaethje forced him to finish the fight as quick as possible. Kick the calf, you can't catch calf kicks dummy. Shows how little you know about mma. Plus it takes less calf kicks then it does thigh kicks to completely f*ck up the leg.

That was the most damage Khabib has taken in striking in all his fights. So it obviously worked, Gaethje is just kick heavy to the thighs. Even though everyone sees how effective calf kicks are, the majority still don't practice or use it. Anytime Khabib feels like he is losing the fight or gets hurt he pressures hard and fights harder. That's why he went straight into submission attempts and that's why he wasn't giving Gaethje any space after taking a few leg kicks. He knew he couldn't fight long and take more damage to his legs. He started fighting to finish because he knew he needed it.

So what's your gameplan on Khabib then? Just sit back and let him go for takedowns and ground and pound you? His legs are open to strikes, his defense is just right hand up to his face with left hand extended out and him turning with the punches. When he gets hurt he pressures forward but has a solid chin so he is able to walk people down and he'll mix in his takedowns from there in the middle of the exchanges as he pressures forward. Usually when he gets them close enough to the cage so he can drive them back to the cage.

Just because they are wrestlers doesn't mean you can't kick them. You just have to know when to kick them.

Let me get your insight because you are obviously all knowing about mma. Break Khabib down and let's hear your strategy. I'll wait.
Listen you idiot. I live in Thailand and work as a MT trainer. Lol! That was cool that you tried to explain me how leg kicks works.. We have fighters from all over the world who comes here to learn the proper technique. And believe me, the wrestlers always manage to take down even the top MT pro fighters. Even after many hard kicks. It slows the fighters down, but it's not a good idea to use them if you don't want to get the fight to the ground. Against a fighter as Khabib, well...

Ok show me an example of a calf kick being caught by a wrestler into a take down "Mr Top Trainer". I'm not talking about Muay Thai fighters that don't use movement/footwork and don't have takedown defense. I'm talking about mma striking. Traditional muay thai stands too upright and don't use footwork/movement and don't have takedown defense. Traditional muay thai is too stationary, the whole style is standing there and trading shots back and forth from mid range. Of course a wrestler will be able to take you down, you stay in the same spot after the kick and muay thai kicks the thighs they don't do calf kicks. Once again I said calf kicks from a mma striker that uses footwork/movement and not a stationary muay thai fighter standing square.

This is a prime example why kickboxers and muay thai practitioners have a hard time transitioning to mma. Trainers with your mindset who can't see the other details associated with mma.

Like I said before give me your break down of Khabib and strategy to use against him. Since you're supposedly a trainer this should be easy work. You say you're a trainer but put no actual input about technique or strategy and can't even properly analyze the strengths and weaknesses of a fighter. Doesn't seem like you are doing your job very well.

Conor or Do Bronx most likely. If Islam didn't pull out against RDA, he could have been throwing his name into the contenders hat.

I'm guessing they're gonna make Oliveira vs. Conor/Poirier II winner, for the title.

So the 2 top ranked guys in the division are good matchups for him, oliveira is winnable, so they will protect him from the guy who hasn’t fought in the division who was finished recently by pitbull? It’s sorta absurd. No one can fight everyone on the way to a title.

And why would the judges score it for conor? What is their motivation to do so?
It's not about fighting everyone on the way to the title, I just guarantee you that they avoid matching Conor up against Chandler and Oliveira. The motivation is obvious; $$$$$$

Chandler a tough match up for Conor? Come on dude. You're joking
Styles makes fights. Chandler is a heavy handed grappler with good cardio, that's Conor's Kryptonite. If he had a granite chin, I'd bet my life savings on Chandler if they ever fight. Conor only has a punchers chance against him.

chandler will end up like mendes.

It's been a long time since I've seen that fight, but if I recall correctly, Mendes took it on short notice and won the fist round. Imagine a bigger, stronger, Mendes with a full camp.
