I'm not a lawyer and will not pretend to know the actual laws but give me a break. This is why those laws exist. So that no single company has the ability to control an industry single handed. Now i realize the UFC has competition in Bellator and One FC, Etc. But are they really competition? The UFC does not disclose there profits, so its almost impossible to know exactly what there market share is of the sport.

The bottom line is that they just told the most popular MMA journalist in the world that they do not want him covering UFC events. That just shows you how little they regard there competition and what a stranglehold they have on the industry.

And lastly, just because Bill Gates starts a small upstart MMA organization does not mean that the organization is a 50 billion dollar company. What matters is profit just in case someone is gonna throw that out there about Bellator.

FTC does not care. There is nothing to talk about.

You tell me. Talk to the legislators in Washington.

As long as other promotions exist it's not a monopoly.

???
NFL, MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, etc. etc. etc.

It's a thing called free agency. Guys like Bendo have become free agents and signed with Bellator. Guys like Gil Melendez made bigger dollars because of an offer from Belator. As long as there is competition out there, they aren't a monopoly.

Fact is it is not the UFC's fault that Bellator isn't willing to pay more for fighters. Since they are owned by Viacom, they are a viable competitor. Every sport or entertainment industry has one league that turns the biggest profit, is NASCAR a monopoly? The PGA Tour? Hell the WWE????

The UFC has no hold on the MMA market. Other companies and employees are free to enter and exit the market as they please. There are various reasons why the UFC is so successful, but monopolization isn't one of them regardless of how much some fans want it to be.

Not being able to reach the level of another company doesn't automatically make it their fault.

UFC is the top dog, someone has to be number 1..

You couldn't know any less what you're talking about.

The sports you mentioned have anti-trust protection. Which means that they are allowed to be an monopoly but they must follow certain rules and have congressional oversight. The UFC has not applied for that exemption and it doesnt look like thye have too.

So sad:( Whats it like to go on an online forum and try to be a tough guy? I even said I dont know the laws but I was using my own reasoning to say they are too powerful. But I guess in Internet tough guy world that is grounds for some obnoxious loser ass comment. Pretty cool life buddy, enjoy never getting laid?

Stopped reading at "I'm not a lawyer"

This is why I rarely post on here. I just wanted someone to explain to me how they are not, and some have. Im not a lawyer or anything close so i dont really know the law that well and its difficult to read through several pages of legal jargon. But I guess losers have to write something sad. Maybe you wont kill yourself today because u wrote something obnoxious online.

Helwani is still free to cover the ufc.

There are plenty of other places for you to see quality mma or for fighters to fight elsewhere.

theyre not a monopoly. They're successful.

Theres actually a lawsuit ongoing that will answer this question at least in part. Personally I do not believe that they are given that there are many other promotions out there and some good fighters have left Zuffa and gone to them.

Problem: UFC is monopoly of fighting
Solution: Regulate them with Government, the monopoly of justice

...because monopolies are bad!

It was just a joke. Those were literally the first three words of OP.
I read your post. It'll take time. Baseball took almost a century to get any sort of relief for the athletes.

No! You are stupid and those fighters are stupid and those lawyers are stupid. Someone on here told me that I'm stupid for thinking that there is some possibility that this is unfair so you are stupid too. Please only follow the obnoxious genius's in the future and you will not make the mistake of having an opinion.

I dont really care but 50% of the people on this site are obnoxious losers. They like want to make fun of you for writing something yet they are on a text based forum. Its pathetic.
