Hello Guys,

To beginn with im not a full time athlete, im not doing it professionally so i think its quite normal that you dont have the energy like pros since you spend energy on lots of other things etc.

However here is a problem i encounter and i wonder how you guys do it :

If i train strenght i need to recover one day after, then i would train other body parts for strenght. But there is also conditioning and technique and sparring so how do you guys manage to train all of it ?
I even cant recover that quick sometimes as im planning to train the next thing so i wonder...

kind regards

1. Read the FAQs, lots of solid info, you might not need anything else.

2. For combining multiple fitness domains/sports/skills training read Joel Jamieson's Ultimate MMA, Tactical Barbell 2, or Bompa's Sports Periodization. One or all will help. It's a broad topic and depends on individual & personal factors, what you need to prioritize based on your existing abilities and long term goals.

In addition to the above, create a spreadsheet/time table of your daily routine; include everything from time spent on bus/driving, making food/eating food, training BJJ/MMA, sleep, grocery shopping, fuckarounditis etc. Once you have that figured out, look at where you can fit in workouts, extra training, recovery methods ad so forth.

Even a part time pro athlete can work his way up to the higher tier if he manages his time properly, though he will eventually have to eliminate some things and devote 90-100% of his time to his focus. But, until that time this is how it gets done. Some things need to hit the back burner.
