Game of Thrones Star Emilia Clarke Joins the Cast of Marvel Studios' SECRET INVASION

Marvel's upcoming Secret Invasion is heating up, with Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke in talks to join the Disney+ series. Marvel Studios could not be reached for comment on the casting, which was first reported by Variety.

Secret Invasion, which gets its name from the 2008 event comic book event story, stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Medelsohn, reprising his Captain Marvel role as the shape-shifting Skrull Talos. Oscar winner Olivia Colman is also among the cast. Kyle Bradstreet, known for Mr. Robot, is writing and executive producing Secret Invasion.

In the comics, Secret Invasion revealed that Skrulls had infiltrated human society, and that some of Earth's superheroes had been replaced by Skrulls years earlier.

Clarke, who earned four Emmy nominations for her Game of Thrones work as Daenerys Targaryen, is the latest Thrones alum to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Both Richard Madden and Kit Harington have roles in the upcoming Eternals film.

The casting comes as Marvel prepares to unveil Friday's finale of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, its second Disney+ series following WandaVision. It has Loki launching June 11 on Disney+ and Black Widow hitting theaters and Disney+ July 9.

Clarke already has experience in the Disney family with her work in Solo: A Star Wars Story. She last appeared in a leading role in 2019's Last Christmas.

I think she has charm for days and she looks great in everything but I just don’t get this movie

Damnation Actor Killian Scott Joins Emilia Clarke and Samuel L. Jackson in SECRET INVASION

Killian Scott (Dublin Murders, Damnation) is in negotiations to join Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn in Secret Invasion, the upcoming Marvel series for Disney+, Deadline has learned.

In Secret Invasion, Jackson and Mendelsohn reprise their MCU characters Nick Fury and the Skrull Talos, respectively, who first met in Captain Marvel. The crossover comic event series showcases a faction of shape-shifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years.

The cast also is expected to include Kingsley Ben-Adir as a likely villain, Olivia Colman and Emilia Clarke. Further plot details are being kept under wraps and it’s not clear what role Scott would play.

Scott was recently tapped as a lead opposite Courtney B. Vance in AMC’s new courtroom drama series 61st Street, from BAFTA-winner Peter Moffat. He recently headlined the BBC/Starz series Dublin Murders. Scott’s series credits also include Damnation, C.B. Strike and Ripper Street.

Marvel's Secret Invasion has found its directors.

THR reports that Thomas Bezucha (Let Him Go) and Ali Selim (The Looming Tower) have been tapped to helm the upcoming Disney+ series, which will (loosely) adapt the Marvel Comics event series of the same name by Brian Michael Bendis.
This news comes on the heels of several major casting announcements, with Olivia Coleman (The Favorite, Tyrannosaur). Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones, Solo: A Star Wars Story) and Killian Scott (The Dublin Murders, Love/Hate) all signing on for undisclosed supporting roles.

Plot details are also under wraps, but we do know that Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn will reprise their Captain Marvel roles as Nick Fury and Talos, respectively. It's also been confirmed that the show will focus on "an infiltration of Skrulls on Earth" (no big surprises there).

One Night In Miami star Kingsley Ben-Adir will play the lead villain. We don't know who that'll be, but Dorrek VII, Emperor of the Skrull Empire, is a strong possibility.Kyle Bradstreet (Mr. Robot) is writing and executive producing Secret Invasion, and production is expected to get underway in Europe later this year. It is unclear what the breakdown of episodes will be, but sources believe it could be three-three or four-two.
 
Kingsley Ben-Adir and Ben Kingsley need to be in the same movie just to have both their names on the poster.

Happy Gilmore Star Christopher McDonald Joins the Cast of Marvel Studios' SECRET INVASION

Christopher McDonald (Happy Gilmore) is the latest big name to join Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn in Secret Invasion, the upcoming Marvel series for Disney+, Deadline has learned.

In Secret Invasion, Jackson and Mendelsohn reprise their MCU characters Nick Fury and the Skrull Talos, respectively, who first met in Captain Marvel. The crossover comic event series showcases a faction of shape-shifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years.

Details about the role are being kept under wraps, but Deadline hears it is a newly created character that could cross over to the larger MCU, including appearing in movies and other Disney+ limited series. A rep for Marvel declined comment.

The cast of Secret Invasion is expected to also include Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir and Killian Scott.

McDonald is recurring on well received new HBO Max comedy series Hacks and co-stars in indie feature Walking With Herb. He was recently seen in the hit Netflix movie We Can Be Heroes.

I hope they improve the skrull makeup. It gets in the way when they talk.
