Elections Second Assassination Attempt of Trump at his Florida golf course

This is all totally normal and not completely unprecedented.

Probably another pesky high school student who masterminded this month’s assassination attempt on the soon-to-be President.
It's not unprecedented, although it's not normal either.

I ended up looking this up for another conversation I was having: Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, Truman, Hoover, Kennedy (attacked, the actual assassination came 7 weeks later), Nixon, Ford, Bush Sr., Reagan, Clinton (although the plot never got to the shooting stage).

It's a surprisingly frequent occurrence. Never to be condoned but less unusual than I thought.

It’s happened before in America, multiple times.

If you choose to use History as a record,

The World and the Country would move on.

With the way things are now it would be a very different outcome then say JFK.

You've been presented with a mountain of evidence in the other thread that you're willingly ignoring.

You've also been slandering Trump for years for things with way less evidence because your brain is infected with TDS.
So there's a mountain of evidence but you can't point to a single confirmed case of a Haitian eating someone's pet?

You sound like a Bigfoot enthusiast, I'm sure you'll find him one day.

The guy could have driven there multiple times with that kit in his car, and the rest of the time he isn't setting it up, is he? So no one knows he's scoped the site multiple times in the hope Trump is there.

I guess that's about as likely as Tim Walz having horse semen pumped out of his stomach after he guzzled too much while JD Vance is humping a couch.

I mean anything is possible right?

Idk if it'd be derailing but id love for you to walk me through that. It seems Eastmans defence was that they were exploring a fringe legal theory. So by calling it fraud it seems people are begging the question, that has yet to be adjudicated.
There’s no legal theory that covers this.
States determine how their elections are run, via laws passed by the legislatures there and usually by rules set by their election commissions (which are in turn empowered by laws passed by the legislature). Any legal challenges have to be resolved by what is called the Safe Harbor Date, which in 2020 was Dec 8, and that was done.

So:

1. There was no reason to have any other slate of electors sign anything on Dec 20. The states had all certified their results—some of them multiple times—prior to this, and all legal challenges to those certifications had been resolved already.

2. There’s no mechanism by which Congress or the VP can just toss some state-certified slate of electors in the trash and use a different one of their choosing. To do that disenfranchises every voter who voted for the certified winner.

3. There’s also no mechanism by which Congress or the VP can just decide not to accept any slate of electors and sent the election to the House. That again disenfranchises every voter who voted for the certified candidate.

You're just willfully ignoring the evidence because it doesn't align with your TDS world view.

So going by how you describe it, which im taking your word for, this seems pretty cut and dry. What are the legal hangups that are preventing prosecution here?

He's not wrong. We're almost going on 10 years of the same TDS drivel. It's far beyond obsessive at this point.
Count up how many liberals are serving time in prison because of their hatred of Trump. Then compare it to how many MAGA are serving time in prison because of their cultish devotion to him.

"TDS" has never been anything more than a thought-terminating cliche brought out by people trying to defend the indefensible with Trump.

You say TDS about 40 times a day. Get a new routine.
Its surprising how such a juvenile insult has been effective at blunting criticism of Trump. You can't make a single critique of the guy without the lemmings coming out of the woodwork to repeat "TDS".

I wonder how the shooter knew Trump would be on a golf course on a Sunday and not in Church.

I read he had been in the area for 12 hours..
According to his phone data

I think you are wrong,

There may be some stupidity from a handful of people on both sides but The World would move on.

Americans also have a quicker attention span nowadays than with JFK.

Sad but true.

I think the people who think he's some sort of god are just as weird.

I don't agree about TDS. We can both agree that Hitler is bad but if I came here and had to read people's criticisms of Hitler for 10 years straight, eventually I would be so annoyed by it that I would just glance over it and stop paying attention to any criticism of Hitler. Doesn't mean I think Hitler is awesome, it means I'm just tired of the same drivel.

I also got annoyed by people bitching about Obama like he was the anti christ as well.

It's just not healthy behavior, no matter what side you're on.

The difference is Hitler is not running for POTUS in 2024 and Trump is.

Why shouldn't Democrats criticize the nominee of the opposing party?
