I'm not knowledgeable in WW2 history so I don't know, but I got the gist of what he was saying. This type of thing hasn't exactly been uncommon in past centuries.

Hitler certainly did have military leadership that he couldn’t control or he didn’t feel were loyal to him purged. A perfect example was Hitler was scared of Ernst Rohm the leader of the SA. He had him and other leaders of the SA executed. Later forced out his War Minister Blomberg and the Army COC Fritsch. I am over simplifying it for time but it did happen.
