Media Sean Strickland Talks Dricus Du Plessis loss and addresses his coach's criticism, says he had broken bones and a very tough camp

All the excuses in the world won't change for him that as the fight was clearly slipping away he changed absolutely fuck all about the way he was fighting.

He was fortunate to get the title shot to begin with - lots of guys would kill for that, and not only that they'd certainly go out on their shield too to try and get that belt.

And where's the yelling at the near end of the fights?

He yelled at jack, izzy when he was winning the point fighting but didn't yell when he was losing to both the DDP fights

lmao what a pos coward

Listen, if you spew hate, and vitrol, and mind you, even compared to Colby of them all, what this guy was saying seemed most hate-fulled, egotistic, acting-tough than what we've seen previously, and then you fight like you left your two balls back home in a jar in case your feelings may get hurt, in a title fight at that, then you talk about switching camps afterwards not to mention listing all the excuses in the world?

The most shameful display in MMA history.

Then maybe he should have postponed the fight?

To me, he looked like he was just there to get a check and leave. I saw no intensity or will to win from him.

I know he's generally far more defensive than offensive minded, but he did next to nothing in this fight, from start to finish.

I'd say they probably should just put him back on apex cards for a while. No more PPVs until he shows some fire to actually want to put on an entertaining fight.

I'm no Strickland fan, but:
  1. Nicksick was out of line with the Ariel interview. As a coach, you don't kick your athlete when he's already down.
  2. I wouldn't blame Strickland for changing coaches.
That being said, Strickland's words and actions aren't congruent. He talks like a lion but fights like a lamb, which is a quick way to turn the fans (and UFC) off.

You knew he was defeated before the fight even started when he specifically went out of his way to show people he had staph, pre-preparing his excuses. An oozing, nickel-sized hole on my arm, time to go sleeveless at the presser!
