I don't see how you can justify using violence against children. While some children can handle it a lot of children are sensitive and vulnerable and will absolutely be marked for life by even moderate violence. Parents are not some deities who are able to make that call, you only know how bad it marked them when it's too late. There are better less lazy ways to teach a child good behavior. Level up your parenting game.
