Sean O'Malley: Tyson Fury is not interested in Francis Ngannou anymore

Francis should swallow his pride and go back to the ufc to fight Jones

of course the ufc it’sa monopolistic organization though, so he has to deal with that, he’s not out of options, but he played himself trusting a Gypsy

“Francis, and I’ve said it since Day 1 since he started talking sh*t on the UFC on Twitter: It’s going to be the biggest mistake of his life,” O’Malley said on the “TimboSugarShow.” “Tyson Fury is not interested in Francis Ngannou anymore.

“He was interested in Francis when he was the UFC champ. He was the baddest motherf*cker in the world. Now he’s outside the UFC. Now it’s not as intriguing. Who is Francis? Francis is eventually going to be like – he hasn’t fought in two years. That fight is going to be not as interesting.”

“You do that because you want that payday,” O’Malley said. “You want that boxing payday, and that was in his head. It was in his manager’s head. That’s what I’m assuming. I’m guessing, obviously. I don’t f*cking know.

“I think he’s thinking he saw Conor do it, but Conor did it with the UFC. He didn’t do it by himself. The more days go on, the less intrigue, the less care we have for Francis to go to boxing.”

Yup nobody is buying an Ngannou ppv without the UFC promoting it.

Fury is basically confirmed to be fighting an actual boxer. You know. Like Usyk. Where he can become the undisputed champ.

He has no time for these clown shows. Nor is Francis a big enough draw or big enough name to generate the kind of fuck you money he would desire.

There is a real possibility francis will need to fight another guy. If he is lucky its wilder or Joshua, but there has been not even a single rumour for those fights. And he will be the "B" side. With a capital B.

Lol it's an interesting place in that regard for sure.

Humans are inherently very biased and group driven creatures. I think that carries a lot of these things. Very seldomly will people step outside of that box, comfort zone and leave emotionality at the door.

These polarizing figures intentionally stir the pot to build their brand and make more money. But it also leaves them open to criticism from people who can't see beyond the character.

But that's also what keeps the machine going is most not knowing those "industry secrets" as Chael puts it.

See, that is the real reason I enjoy this place. Those are some very wise, interesting words. I agree, what you describe is actually the most common path for humans, I don't agree it is inherent to human nature. I think the basis of human nature is quite opposite. I think humans have an inherent, fundamental desire to achieve individual success by finding and achieving whatever it is that means to them, but the fear you describe to step out from that comfortably numb group safety prevents them from even identifying their personal success criteria.

When you think about it there are not that many people out there like O'Malley that seem so comfortable being very far outside of any box knowing it invites intense criticism. Maybe he is happy, maybe he is not we don't know him personally but that criticism says nothing about him and everything about what the person criticizing wishes they could do in their own way.

LOL, Eddie Hearn is grasping at straws to promote AJ's upcoming fight in a few weeks that is not going well, projecting to bomb badly. Nothing to do with any real interest in Ngannou.

Your prob right about Eddie using it to help promote AJ but that being said AJ still a bigger draw than Fury. Even with his losses to Usyk.

He's not wrong. In a world of immediacy and "what have you done for me lately" this guy will be in the shadows in no time.

There must be a typo in your post, or I am reading it completely wrong. There is absolutely no doubt Tyson Fury is the biggest draw in boxing right now that everyone is trying to nuthug and they are going to have to give away tickets to AJs upcoming fight.

Jake Paul Vs Tommy Fury did more PPV than Fury vs Chisora mate.
Deffo not the biggest draw in boxing by a long shot.
Either way it dosnt matter. Hats off to Fury and AJ, go make that money lads.

This coming from a guy who thinks he can beat tank davis in boxing. Looks like a combination between conor mcgregor, Kurt cobain and some pro skater and won his last fight by split decision

Sean O'Malley actually makes an interesting point here, Francis shot himself in the leg by not taking the 3 fight UFC offer, his future would've been set and when that's over he could slide into crossover boxing matches.

Sean O'Malley:

"Tyson Fury's not interested in Francis Ngannou anymore. He was interested in Francis when he was the UFC champ. He was the pound-for-pound the best baddest motherf****er in the world, now he's not signed to the UFC, now it's not as intriguing, who is Francis? Francis eventually gonna be like well, he hasn't fought in two years. "

"I think he's thinking he saw Conor [McGregor] do it but Conor did it with that UFC, he didn't do it by himself. The more days go on, the less intrigued, the less care we have for Francis to go to boxing." [11:22 - 11:33]

He has much more to lose than Ngannou if he losses, and Ngannou is much faster and far better counter striker than Wilder.

lol that anyone actually thought that fight would happen. Whatever list of priorities Fury has, Nganou is not on it.

Let’s keep the conversation civil. This isn’t a forum loaded with engagers in homosex….

Ngannou is a known name and the ufc champion when he was not renewed so fighting him will still draw enough interest to make a cross over fight worthwhile for one of the contenders. Fury doesn't look interested to fight anyone at the moment...wilder needs to get his name out in the limelight again so he is the most likely to agree. Paradoxically Joshua may be the one who is most vulnerable to an unorthodox fighter like ngannou so he may not consider it worth the risk.

Those who suggest that ngannou made a mistake leaving the ufc and should have tied up rhe fight before that may have forgotten that it would have been breach of contract for him to negotiate with anyone else other than the ufc while he was still under contract. In fact the ufc even threatened his coach over that before rhe gane fight.

I can understand why he left the ufc despite being offered a contract. It may have been a substantial pay rise but this was the tail end of his career and his last contract of his career. If he moved to one of the other 2 mma organisations, he can likely get as much or almost as much ans unlike the ufc, they would let him box which the ufc was adamant at not agreeing to. That sort of crossover boxing bout stands to pay him a lot more so if he stayed in the ufc that would be forfeited. Since he has no other qualification except to fight professionally, he would hv beeb foolish not to get as much money as he can get.

Wilder's punches are very slow. He was faster when younger (still not as fast as Ngannou) but looked very slow against Fury.
Right, Ngannou is such a speed demon. His punches are so fast we can't even see them. Maybe he'll slow them down for us if he ever makes some movies like Bruce Lee did? Gotta catch those paws of his on film, bro.

In what world is Ngannou a faster puncher than Wilder? They must be so blindingly fast -you cant even see em like the Black Beast fights.
