Sean O’Malley: I’m Only One Who Can Beat Merab Dvalishvili

If true that's bad news because he already lost twice

Merab has legit cleaned out the division so I don't find what Sean is saying controversial.

I have a hard time seeing anyone out wrestle or out cardio Merab. That seems unreasonable until he ages out of his athletic capability.

Someone with fast, fight stopping strikes that can counter wrestle 'good enough' to make opportunities is likely one of the best underdogs, in a room full of underdogs.

Sean's Tdd almost non existent like an Ank fan nowadays 🤣

Even you throwing strong thappad I am certain he will tank this hit ji

Merab bhai he enjoy slap dangal style yaar it is likely he understand already the brace defence strategy

Maybe a different version of Sean with better TDD. Puncher's chance approaches zero when you are on your back.

If Tito can finally get a win over Chuck in the trilogy (albeit 12 years after their second outing,) I don’t see why Sean can’t eventually get one off of Merab.

Would like to see a petr yan rematch honestly I don't see omalley having a good game plans vs merab every but petr yan has the skills and the speed to have a shot.. Umar is gonna hide. And needs experience.

Umar is the only one who has a shot, and he has to have the gas to win 3 rounds not 2.

Sure. If he threw a flying knee every time Merab shot a takedown he eventually might land one. Umar has 10x the chance to beat Merab than O'Malley.

Despite two losses, Sean O'Malley still believes he can beat Merab Dvalishvili.

Dvalishvili looked to defend his bantamweight title against Cory Sandhagen in the co-main event at UFC 320 last Saturday in Las Vegas. “The Sandman” was expected to pose some threat to Dvalishvili with his intriguing striking. However, Dvalishvili did what he does to everyone else: he put heavy wrestling pressure on Sandhagen for five rounds. Dvalishvili landed 20 takedowns, the highest ever in a UFC title fight, to earn a unanimous decision win. After Sandhagen, there appears to be lack of title contenders for Dvalishvili, who has already walked through tough competition on his way to the title.

However, O’Malley believes he can beat “The Machine.” According to O’Malley, the only way to beat the Georgian champion is to knock him out clean. And “Suga” is confident that he is the only one who can land that knockout blow. While O’Malley doesn’t feel nice making that claim after two losses to Dvalishvili, he doesn’t think anyone else can dethrone the champion anytime soon. However, O’Malley also acknowledged that he needs to get back on the win column in order to make his case for a title shot.

’You Have to Be Able to Snipe Him’

“To beat Merab, you just have to land that shot. You have to be able to f—-ing snipe him,” O’Malley said on YouTube. “He was getting a little bit more reckless. The more confident he gets in his striking, the more gaps he leaves open to be caught… I hate to say it, I’m the only one who can beat him… I got to go out there and get some win. But I don’t see anyone beating Merab anytime soon. He needs to be clipped. He needs to be knocked out, put to sleep.”

“And I’ll prove it by losing twice to him!”

Like bruh Sean looked entirely hopeless in the rematch he was getting drowned.

Unless he has a Olivera style glow up where he improves dramatically in a short period of time I don’t see it.
