Petr Yan claims he wasn’t in his best shape when he fought Merab Dvalishvili the first time, and he wants a chance at redemption.

Yan dropped a unanimous decision against Dvalishvili in their first outing in 2023. Dvalishvili dethroned Sean O’Malley last year to win the bantamweight title. “The Machine” has already defended his title thrice this year, most recently against Cory Sandhagen at UFC 320 last Saturday.

Dvalishvili subsequently revealed plans to defend his title again this year, aiming to set the record for the most UFC title defenses within a year. The most likely date for Dvalishvili’s return this year would be UFC 323 in December. Yan is ready to challenge Dvalishvili for the title in December. “No Mercy” claims he was only 50% in his first outing against Dvalishvili and promises a different fight in a potential rematch.

Yan: ‘Last Time I Was Compromised’

“I’ve been waiting for this chance, and I’m ready to fight in December,” Yan told Ariel Helwani. “I believe it’s gonna be a great fight. We have history. Last time I was compromised, I was only on 50%. This time it will be something different.”

Yan has defeated Yadong Song, Deiveson Figueiredo and Marcus McGhee since his loss to Dvalishvili.

I re-ran the egg and spoon race at my primary school sports day 2,438 times using this exact excuse.

Still didn't win, but at least we were there a long time.

In all fairness, I think Yan has the cardio and tools to cause Merab more problems than Sandhagen did.

Problem is, if Yan can't beat Sterling convincingly, I don't hold out any hope for him avenging his L.

He better announce before the match what percentage he would come in at so there would be no excuses this time

Merab vs. _____________

In this Beauty Contest -- Yan is the least Ugly.

1. O'Malley: 2025 Loss (2 in a row) to Merab
2. Umar: 2025 Loss to Merab
3. Yan: 2023 Loss to Merab
4. Sandhagen: 2025 Loss to Merab
5. Yadong: 2024 Loss to Yan

Well, I'm down.

Give the man his 4th fight. Yan has as good as chance as anyone else.

Well its 20% more than 30% Usman and Usman won, so simply no excuses. Usman debunked it, anything less than 30 won't fly. 1-29% and I'll revisit it and listen

Why not I guess, imagine if Marab beats him on the feet and does 0 take downs.

Come rewatch it in my new $65 million in Brazil I purchased last week
I'd love too, also if they do the rematch I want an invite, your 280 inch projector screen on the wall just make the fights much more vivid and I love that yours is 72K resolution (which isn't due to be released to the public until 2047)

Sure you are always welcome. Also by the way @Luthien borrowed my $16 million diamond and necklace vault for an upcoming wedding, but good news she can keep it as I inherited $50 million in jewellery from my deceased great great grandmother who had them buried in a backyard in one of her super mansions/

The champ wants to fight, and defend for the 4th time this year. There is no one left fresh in the division worthy of a shot, so fuck it! Let them bang bro. Merab the Machine by absolutely smashing him this time around, and stopping him. Merab hands are getting better and better
