Marvel, easy. I've watched almost all the star wars movies, and am familiar with the lore, but I never considered myself a fan of the series. The movies are just alright imo, and it's the clone wars era that I find to be the most interesting, too bad the movies surrounding that era suck. Meanwhile, I'm always excited at the release of another MCU film.

Planet of the Apes franchise shits all over Marvel, Star Wars, DC, Star Trek or any other property.

This. I don't care for the original movies, but the 2011-17 movies, I must say, make up my favorite movie Trilogy of all time.
Ironic, because when I saw the trailer for Rise, I thought this was the dumbest concept imaginable, and the movie would be garbage. Was happily proven wrong.

So true, When a New Star Wars movie comes out I hardly care but can't wait to see the Marvel ones

The acting in the last one was the better than any other movie that year. Not just Serkis but the other apes as well. Hollywood not giving apes their due.

Marvel by far it's not even close the original 3 star wars movies are severly overrated.

The only Star Wars movie I'd watch again is The Last Jedi. There are at least 3-4 Marvel movies that I really want to rewatch.

Star Wars has been completely ruined by that trash last movie. Marvel hasn't had a perfect run with it's movies but many are top notch and it looks like it's only just beginning.

It's actually a very opposite dynamic

Star Wars gets worse each movie, or keeps lowering the bar

Marvel keeps topping itself to everyones astonishment

Star Prequel are better than everything but Infinity Wars and Empire is better than that. So Star war wins

The new trilogy created an amazing world that is outlandish but still anchored in reality, incredibly well crafted. I personally loved the nods to the originals throughout and they never felt forced either. I was really impressed by how they managed to recreate the story of the first films with modern science fiction, it gave an ominous tone to it and made it a lot more relatable to viewers. Great casting, acting, effects, and in my opinion the most Biblical story in modern cinema. It was a perfect trilogy that set up a world they can dive in to any way they want. I can't praise these movies enough.

As far as the OP is concerned, Disney killed the expanded universe and didn't deliver movies good enough to justify it. It peaked decades ago and was just a sci-fi Hidden Fortress to begin with. It's got more potential but money comes first so they will play it safe as long as they can get away with it. Marvel is constantly playing with new genres and pushing boundaries, with a huge catalogue of characters and stories, they balance hardcores and casuals and set up for the future. Definitely Marvel right now.

The one where Hilary is in jail. Lock her up! Lock her up!

I loved the originals too. They're campy and objectively inferior to the new ones, but they have a ton of charm and did a lot of stuff that we had never really seen before. An ambitious sci-fi that had a lot of success and actually tried to have messages. Them and and Godzilla are my top two movie universes. One is the story of how humanity deals with humanity, the other how humanity deals with nature.
