Law School Wouldn’t Let Her Son Opt Out Of Class That Promotes Anti-White Racism. Now She’s Suing

Yea I snapped at @Slick_36 . He's a cool dude.
I was out of line there
I mean we're in the War Room, where we discuss the most complicated and emotionally charged topics there are. Who hasn't snapped on someone unfairly here at some point? Doesn't help I have a dude making constant claims that I'm a racist in here.

And yet, when it is addressed, you avoid it like the plague. All of your posts obsess over race and yet it is your conviction that the people who get tired of your constant claims of racial revolution and white supremacist buzzwords are the *actual* racists who are trying to pull the wool over the eyes of everyone.

As a universal statement, I think "only white people can be racist" is both incorrect and repugnant. However, it is thankfully almost never said except by right wingers purposefully misrepresenting more nuanced positions (like the slide in the OP, which states that in the context of white societies, racism by white people is inevitably more powerful than racism against white people).

Using "racist" as it is casually understood (as broad animus based on racial or ethnic categories)? No, in that case racism spreads across all races.

Using "racist" as it is sociologically defined (as such animus encoded into and enforced by social systems)? Yes, in white-majority societies.

However, I question whether the world - and specifically looking at the posters in this forum - will ever be smart or mature enough to accept the second distinction as race-neutral.

Sorry bud. You're completely wrong or purposefully wrong if you think " only whites can be racist " is said by right wingers... that's amazing to claim.. then you go on about Racism being more powerful thru white people...

Thats absolutely amazing and terrifying at the same time... wow

Well, through the first page, this is about as modern conservative a thread as can exist. Citing to a fake news site that no intelligent person would take seriously, ragging on education as leftist indoctrination, peddling fears about white people being targeted, SDW calling people subhuman trash. Has it all.

I thought you got banned. Well... welcome back I guess.

Sorry but this isn't fake news, there are hyperlinks about the case in the OP and Fox is also reporting on it. Fox is bias but they are not a site that fabricates stories like this.

I'm not generalization the education system either. What this 22 year old teacher was presenting to the students is a subjective ideology that is being forced upon them in order to graduate.

You're a racist, SDW is a white supremacist, I'm alt-right and Kafir is a terrorist sympathizer. Fuck nuance and let's distill things down to the least possibly charitable possibilities.

This is where the whole us against them mindset is leading anyone interested in political topics. Sad, if you ask me.

It's not about trying to understand or explain your point of view anymore. There's to much anger and a desire to tar the other " team " as much as justify their own team.

Its highly disturbing. And sad

Yes, you're right that this isn't made up. I was using "fake news" as a term of art to describe The College Fix as the reckless circle jerk-oriented clickbait that it is. It's lower than Fox News but not much lower. What they are describing as encouraging violent anti-white racism is just objective social science: that sentiments with institutional power are distinct from those without it, and the two cannot be conflated to dismiss the former. Apartheid in South Africa couldn't be dismissed as justifiable because there were black South Africans who hated white South Africans. Hating white people may be just as awful as hating black people, but the former hate was in no way as powerful as the second hate, because the second hate had the weight of political, social, and economic power behind it. It shouldn't be controversial and wouldn't be if conservatives weren't actively looking for outrage.

And that's not to say it's unique to American conservatives. It's the same in any country. Anti-Muslim sentiments in India are more powerful than anti-Hindi sentiments. Anti-Hindi sentiments in Pakistan are more powerful than anti-Muslim sentiments.

And conservatives in each of those countries will sing the same whinging song as white conservatives in America if presented with this basic sociological fact.

PS - "Bias" is a noun, not an adjective. That is, for whatever reason, the single most common error in political language in the United Sates as far as I can tell, and I don't understand why. Fox News is biased. It has a bias.

In Nevada, Gabrielle Clark didn’t want her son, William, to attend a mandatory class at his charter school that promoted “hostility toward whites as a race,” The College Fix’s Greg Piper reported. Gabrielle previously threatened to file a lawsuit against the school for forcing him to take the class, and this week she made good on that threat.

The school forced her son to “make professions about his racial, sexual, gender and religious identities in verbal class exercises and in graded, written homework assignments,” Gabrielle asserted in her federal lawsuit, which was filed Tuesday.

William, who is a senior at Democracy Prep and biracial, had his statements “subject to the scrutiny, interrogation and derogatory labeling of students, teachers and school administrators,” the lawsuit states. William is still being coerced to “accept and affirm politicized and discriminatory principles and statements that he cannot in conscience affirm.”

Gabrielle’s lawsuit states that William was “repeatedly threatened… with material harm including a failing grade and non-graduation if he failed to comply with their requirements. Gabrielle is black and William’s only living guardian. His white father passed away. Gabrielle included a screenshot of a meme that was included in the mandatory class, which claimed “reverse racism doesn’t exist.”

I think this law suit has some legs. Suing for damages for severe mental and emotional distress, as well as allegedly "permanent" damages to his academic career seemed to be a little much on paper, but making this class mandatory for graduation is bullshit, and I hope this lawsuit can set a precedent as these sort of ideas are both divisive and toxic.

Absolutey atrocious, ignorant, disrespectful, and dangerous.

When you're convinced those others are evil you're more willing to team up against them. Once there are only two teams consisting of sheep, corraling them is much easier than herding cats. I'm not saying that's the methodology, but we're more concerned with squabbling with each other than concentrating on the important issues. And identity politics should be damned low on the list of important things. Yet here we are.

It may be as awful as hating black people ? What the hell man. Wow. People who weren't born shouldn't be targeted by the actions of the past.

And no. Its controversial because targeting people by percieved racial identity is backwards and leads to a shit show. Go down this line you will have racists on the other side teaching the negative aspects of poc, from a social economic and political view.... My God this is insane,

@hillelslovak87 , I see that you liked this shit post.

Same question to you..

Do you have any proof or sources that this story is false?

@Steve-French even provided hyper links to the lawsuit in question

The source alone casts serious doubt in my mind.

If I was going to judge a story, I'd say no matter it's veracity, you yokels aren't able to parse any of the pertinent info......

Translation:

"I'm not gonna comment on it, because I know it's wrong but it goes against my political leanings. I am a mindless drone. Love me for who I am."

Doubt is acceptable in this day and age.. your assumption of intellectual superiority based on your perception of them being yokels is messed up.

Fuck me, you guys are all screwed.

You're on a sinking ship and arguing who's more to blame on the ship beginning to sink than trying to work together to fix the ship. It's amazing

100 percent exactly right.

This clowns are unapologetic about it too.

One would think that we could all unify around the idea that racism is wrong...always wrong..

But look at these "people ".
Embarrassing

Got it. Nothing to add. Welcome back to my shit list

It's not my fault you people are too rock bottom moronic to be able to see that maybe it's her opinion, and maybe it's a frivolous case. Just saying critical race theory is racist doesn't make it so, especially when considering those against it can't actually argue effectively as to how it's racist, in intent of implementation.

Just a whole lotta emotion and fear.

...as in it is as awful. Obviously. "It may be" is stipulating that fact.

Fox news has an article about this too and they feature some more slides from the class.

Leftist education is screwing up the next generation. They are taught that they are oppressed if they aren't a white Christian male.

No wonder BLM/antifa looted and burned down the cities this summer. This teaching is destructive to a nation. But that is the goal of Marxism. Bring chaos to destroy society and then fundamentally change America.

Do you have any actual reasoning as to why Critical Race Theory is racist? Or is it more emotion from your frozen tundra's wifi hotspot.

I think they're yokels because many of them scream about this replacement of white men, all in emotional outburst of indignation, and have yet to show how CRT is actually racist.

I care about shitty ideas being confronted, like these moronic pushes by hardline conservatives, who can always be relied upon to push against any sort of civil rights actions performed in the USA.

Like when the first black President (and only the 10th black senator since slavery's end, out of over 2000 senators) hires a black DOJ head who is reform-minded. He then implements his reform only to have a fascist sweep to power and put a KKK lover into the job, doing away with all his work........
