Law Scalia Died today

Were his comments about a specific open seat? (no, they weren't)
yes the conservatives
Were his comments those of the senate majority leader? (no, they weren't)
democrats have always circled the wagons, voting and acting in complete unison
Were his comments agreed to by most other democratic senators asked? (see above)
So, to sum up, were his comments comparable to those of McConnell? Not too similar, actually.
exactly, a vacancy would tip the scales of the bench

Now, let's ask another question: Do you agree with either McConnell or Schumer?
McConnell only said replacing a unexpected exit of a conservative with a socialist/progressive/marxist, would upset the balance of powers

Schemer refused anyone be appointed by a republican, be it a liberal or a conservative exit

Some shady shit going on. Why was a pillow found over his face? Do people usually sleep like that?
No a pillow wasn't found over his face, it was above his head. The owner of the ranch used the words "over his head" and unfortunately that has set the goofballs into full conspiracy mode. The county sheriff used the words "above his head" and they both believe he was undisturbed and died peacefully.

yeah....NO
No liberals are defending Schumer that I have heard. He's a hypocrite for speaking out against McConnell after what he said previously, should have kept his mouth shut. There's a big difference between Schumer, who wasn't supported by his colleagues, and McConnell, who is the damn Majority Leader and actually has the power, the inclination, and the support to do what he implies he will do. It ain't the same, and it ain't even close. It sure as hell isn't what Scalia would have wanted. And that's all that should have to be said on the matter.

That's all fine and fluffy talk....unless you've paid attention to how the democrats do bussiness.
it doesn't matter if one of their own is caught getting his dick sucked by whoever, they never turn on each other.
Schumer was a VERY powerful member of the senate, but just to give you a chance, find one rebuke by a democrats senate member over this.
I'll wait for it

Yeah while I'm wasting my time on your irrelevant demands, how about you go dig up democrats showing the same kind of support to Schumer that McConnell is getting from the boys.

I posted it and I'll except your defeat, thanks for playing

in the future don't tag my quotes with bullshit claims (post 437)

all of you that wrote the vile shit, you are the problem with this nation, greatness stood amongst us and you were to stupid to take notice....even after the fact you would rather spit on his grave then reflect. to this I can only hope you reap what you sow
Someone already quoted your comment about Obama. You're a hypocrite and as vile as those you condemn. That makes you worse.

Given many of the comments in this and other threads about Sotomayor and Kagan I also think you're simply engaged in partisan nonsense rather than any sort of honest commentary on people's reactions.

Cliffs: You're an awful human being, worse than those you're criticizing.
Scalia criticized the Senate’s confirmation process for justices.

“I was confirmed, believe it or not, 98 to nothing,” he said. “What’s changed?”

Scalia said the standards for judging justices has taken a new turn in the past quarter century, producing a “horrible confirmation process.”

“Is this person a good lawyer, a modicum of judicial demeanor, an honest person: That’s all fine and good but that’s not the most important thing,” he said. “The most important thing is, ‘Is this person going to write the new Constitution that I like?’”
Then I'm sure, in keeping with Scalia's words and your oh so clear respect for his opinions, that you'll support whomever Obama nominates. You can be damn sure he'll nominate someone with good credentials. Oh wait, you've already commented on that despite no nominee being put forward.

when you have nothing you quote a posted thats been explained several times besides, is this a memorial for obama? I admitted I was pissed at the ignorance of the low level know nothing posters on this board that disrespected one of the brightest mind to ever sit on the court so I trolled them
as far as obama, he isn't dead

I trashed your rebuttal to Schemer and you pull the same liberal shit and reframe the debate

That's a ridiculous mischaracterization of McConnell's comments. Comments like that are why you're pretty universally viewed as ridiculous and a liar. Your comments inside the quote were also largely incorrect.

As for the rest, I don't like Schumer and think he was wrong there.

no thats right, he isn't dead
When I have nothing? What we have are clear examples of your hypocrisy. You pretend to be upset about people happy about a death (which I agree is bad) and then state that you would have preferred it was the president. You're the one with nothing, certainly not a shred of honesty.

You didn't trash anything. You were dishonest in how you reported McConnell's comments. You also posted unfounded opinion.

I ad-libbed Mcconnell statement with reality, dip

Serious questions second sight:
During what years of a presidency is it legitimate for the president to nominate judges?
Do you disagree with Scalia that it is bad that the confirmation of judges has been politicized?

Damn, I meant to hit edit on a post an clicked "Report". Does it make me a snitch if I reported my own post?

You were deflect and try and change the course of the discussion
Bullshit. You lied.
you aren't that dumb (maybe) I posted the type judge that obama will nominate

I believe just like Schemer, just like McConnell that the balance of the court is necessary unless a liberal judge retires under a conservative president or visa versa. Unexpected death is a completely different animal.

So, suffice to say, you're not a strict constructionist/originalist.

Yeah, you posted this tripe:
so are we looking at the first transvestite on the court, maybe we need a black panther transvestite
So, is it correct to assume, given your reverence for Scalia, that you would support this black panther transvestite if they were demonstrably a good lawyer?
