i understand all that, i think you guys think i'm retarded some times. I said 'mainstream' for a reason, the same reason Will SMith won the first rap Grammy, b/c you weren't getting much play if your whole game was drug based, at least overtly.
Reasonable doubt, for instance, had many more drug references and dealing terms than the latter Jay z albums, he went more mainstream by signing w/ Roc and changing his message.
Fabolous and the Clipse, and then jeezy, didn't. They pretty much went straight w/ drugs rap, following the bling rap from No Limit and Cash Money a few years prior. That's what i meant
edit: moreso Clipse and Jeezy, fabolous has pop catchy singles and all the drug songs are just album fillers, but it's mostly what he talks about too
