I still remember Francesca in the CBS studios in the 80s when he was the matchmaker for CBS college basketball. He also was in studio for college football. This was way before the Mike and the Mad Dog and even before WFAN when on air. I listened to WFAN when I was high school, ugrad and in grad school, late at night. I was a huge fan of Steve Somers ("Me here, you there). Who can forget Dolores from Ozone park and her memory of ball players from the 50s, all in vivid detail with that smoker's cough!

Also hilarious were the ads for Umberto's Clam house in Little Italy, that was open until 4am. I only found out a few years ago that Umberto's was where Crazy Joe Gallo was murdered - LOL.

My uncles were associates of the Lucchese family out of Bergen County, NJ.
They hated the Colombos with a passion.
They and their counterparts have all been dead for forty years.
Personally though, I've always had an affinity for Mulberry Street.
