never listened to much of any rock myself, but i've been around people that do so it's weird.

My dad's second wife (mom of my two half sisters) listened to alot of Tool and pantera, and i would visit for whole summers or xmas breaks. Even now, i'll hear a random song from Undertow and somehow still know the guitar riffs, most of the lyrics, the vocal changes, etc...

Then my roommate in college, the rich kid, was like a poser i guess. Anytime someone showed him some new music or album, he'd become obsessed and play it for weeks straight. As i was in generally in his room smoking, i'd hear and still know like Senses Fail albums or Coheed and Cambria or Mars Volta, shit i'd never ever listen to. But then he would switch to like Cam'ron Purple Haze or something randomly different, like bruh.

whatever tho, dude got me free tickets to like prime The Used, Slightly Stoopid, Peppar, Method Man/Redman and Inspectah deck, kanye during his first album tour, etc...

i'll take it

his family also owned the vacation spot near Rosarito that we used quite frequently. Man i wish i was rich haha

You're asking Canadians about economics? I wouldn't recommend that. The vast majority have no clue how the rest of the world deals with money since they live in a country where you can completely fuck up or do nothing, and nothing really bad will ever happen to you.

I can understand that schools would have prohibitions on dying hair (I caught shit at my private HS for getting blond highlights lmao) but the fact that your school wouldn't make an exception for gingers is brutal cruelty on every level

Since people are bringing up clothes that got them in trouble at school, and music --- I'll have to post my story about going to see AC/DC in the 9th grade.

Briefly:
- showed up at school one day wearing a powder blue sweater, a lacoste shirt and hush puppies.
- metal head friend scored tickets to AC/DC that night from a radio station
- offers me his ticket. I only have $3 for lunch on me and he takes it.
- I'm like, "sweet, ticket to AC/DC"
- get to the arena and between Fastway (ex-Motorhead guitarist Fast Eddie Clark) and AC/DC there is a riot and cops are getting smashed.
- I'm like, "wow, this is a rough crowd" --- then it dawns on me that I'm dressed like a Mormon on his way to church

Good thing camera phones didn't exist because this was internet legend level fail material.

Between the end of ugrad and convocation I dyed my hair ginger/dark red. At convocation when I went up to get hooded (that's what they called it ) and to get my diploma, the professor doing the ceremony said, "what the heck did you do to your hai?r" and then did a 'son I'm disappointed' head shake.
