That's what continued to frustrate me about the media. Hurricane Irma's open ocean Cat 5 wind speeds were legit... not unparalleled but on par with Wilma.
Nothing else about it was that remarkable, especially once it started pinging itself off Cuba and getting bogged down.
They kept hyping up how the storm was as big as the state of Florida etc... seriously, Hurricanes are always massive... 300-400 miles in width.

Older shittier uglier graphics sure... but Andrew was similarly massive.
Want to see a truly massive hurricane, find an image of Hurricane Sandy.
