Saw a man die

Fuck. This thread is depressing.
Shouldn't off clicked. Fuck!

I feel bad for the train driver most with this form of suicide. Front row seat.

They don't get paid enough for this shit.

The first time I witnessed a death was when I was at my first ever job. Just a shelf stacker in a local corner shop.

Guy starts banging on the window for help. Go out to see what's happening and he is laying there holding his chest. Said he'd been stabbed. I tried to keep the blood in with my hands and put pressure on it while someone else phoned an ambulance. There were too many wounds though and the blood kept pouring out.

Took about 10 minutes for the ambulance to get there. The poor guy asked me if he was going to die and I stupidly pretended not to hear him. Then he was gone.

Got shouted at by the boss the next day too because I apparently left the shop a mess and holding a dying man in my arms near closing time wasn't a good excuse. I should've already finished all the work by the time that happened lol.

The first one I saw was a guy hitting a railroad crossing sign when I was 11. It was back before many cars had seat belts. He was driving too fast. A car ahead of him was turning left. The driver swerved to the right and hit the sign which was on a concrete pole which stopped the car instantly. The driver's head was split open and his brains splattered on the windshield and dashboard. I was walking on the sidewalk about 50 feet behind where it hit. I was surprised it didn't bother me but I had seen many animals die by then.

Pulled a drowning guy out of the surf when I was like 17, the guy was frothing at the mouth and going a weird blue color when I pulled him up on the sand. The life guards were doing fuck knows what and didnt even know what was going on until a bunch of people started screaming at them to actually do something.

The dude ended up dying, the hardest part was when his wife thanked me for at least trying to save him, but seeing her broken I'll never forget.

Last week my former colleague in the military/contracting who is now a paramedic in the UK had his first pediatric cardiac arrest.

He said it was a 6 month old boy, and all he could think was 'why does this kid have old man hair?' Kid didnt make it sadly, but I lol'd at my friend's train of thought.

Watched a 3 year old die from a gunshot wound to the head. His heart was still beating when they brought him into the trauma room, but it stopped a couple minutes later. The kid's mom and 7 year old sister were in the room too...... that was tough.

I don't remember ever seeing someone die, but I remember trying to help a guy that was long dead found in my favorite bar's bathroom. I knew the guy. Heroin overdose.

I made a very uncouth joke as I walked in and saw him on the floor. "U know he ded", which was a meme back then. But he was actually dead.

I saw a man lose in roulette.

I'll never forget the lost chips...

Cheers, nice to see that someone understands how bad it can affect us drivers ( or conductors as you US folks call them.)

I've had 2 , first one died, second one survived but right fucked up as you would expect after getting hit by about 300 ton of train doing about 10 mph.

I've got colleagues that have had fatalities and never driven again and had others who have turned up to work the next day because they weren't fussed.

I work in the OR and have seen lots of people die. Idc tho my minds mostly on how I can fill the or with uppercuts.

very morbid ts, hopefully it doesn't damage you in the long run

you could have been a theync star...

A few.

Mostly on the job. In Iraq both friends, enemies and civilian casualties. Then family of old age, was there when she took her last breath. Now as a firefighter, none yet, but there will more than I would like to see in my future. Oh well, it doesn’t bother me seeing it, but I do feel bad for them and thier family. I have strong empathy, but strangely have no issues separating that from seeing the dead body or them while dying.

So last week, as I'm waiting at the train station on my way home from work (as poor as that sounds) I saw a man die.
It was raining and me and this guy were stood in the shelter together. Me sat down, him stood in the doorway just about out of the rain. An announcement comes out over the speaker that the next train coming through the station was an express train and wouldn't be stopping.
As the train starts to approach at a high speed, the guy causally strolls out of the shelter and walks towards the platform edge. At first I thought he just thought the train was stopping but he kept going. With impeccable timing he dropped off the edge of the platform just as the train was arriving. I don't think he even hit the floor before the train hit him.

I don't want to go into too much detail as to what was left but it was messy. I swore and immediately rang the police. I've never seen someone die before and especially in such a graphic way.

It took an hour and a half before I was done giving statements to the police and got to go home.

As a soyboy millenial I am having some issues coming to term with this and it has been playing on my mind. Being a sensible person I have come to Sherdog for guidance.

How many of you have seen someone die? Did it bother you?
Watched my father die in a hospital bed. It's a shock to the system. Life will always throw unexpected things at you. You have to roll with the punches.

I saw a guy die when I was young eating at a restaurant called the Donald Duck restaurant, guy crashed his motorcycle while he wasn't wearing a helmet infront of the place and his head exploded

I have seen a number of people die. As of what you saw? It will stick in your memory. But it should not really affect you. If it was a loved one in the same way you need to get help.
