So last week, as I'm waiting at the train station on my way home from work (as poor as that sounds) I saw a man die.
It was raining and me and this guy were stood in the shelter together. Me sat down, him stood in the doorway just about out of the rain. An announcement comes out over the speaker that the next train coming through the station was an express train and wouldn't be stopping.
As the train starts to approach at a high speed, the guy causally strolls out of the shelter and walks towards the platform edge. At first I thought he just thought the train was stopping but he kept going. With impeccable timing he dropped off the edge of the platform just as the train was arriving. I don't think he even hit the floor before the train hit him.

I don't want to go into too much detail as to what was left but it was messy. I swore and immediately rang the police. I've never seen someone die before and especially in such a graphic way.

It took an hour and a half before I was done giving statements to the police and got to go home.

As a soyboy millenial I am having some issues coming to term with this and it has been playing on my mind. Being a sensible person I have come to Sherdog for guidance.

How many of you have seen someone die? Did it bother you?

I shot a Sheriff once. But wrongly got accused of shooting the deputy. I didn't do it.

Seen it many times between my time in the military and eleven years as a LEO. Used to bother me but I’ve learned to distance myself emotionally from pretty much anything involving the death of someone that I don’t know. Sounds cold but it’s business as usual now.

I saw a dude die when I was like 12. My parents and I were at Myrtle Beach and a car pulls out of a gas station. Some dude was going REALLY fast on his bike and T-bones the car. The guy goes flying and lands on his head without a helmet. There was crazy traffic so I was sitting there for like 5 minutes with this dude just dead in the middle of the road.

Yes. Family members, car accident victims, and dead bodies in Iraq.
No, it did not bother me. What bothers me is human and animal cruelty. Humans are just another animal is this planet.

You get used to it.
<Kpop01> Is that you Popeye ?

Myself an employee turned a corner right behind a loaded concrete truck that tipped and land square on top of car with two guys in it going to lunch. At first I didn't know why people were honking then realized it was the crushed car under the truck. Sad and shocking deal but I'm ok.

Didn't see it but came upon a bike that t boned a full size service van in the driver's door. Riders head was in his helmet on the passenger side dash. I was to busy trying to calm the driver who was in shock to grasp the other side of the van at the time and didn't go see it. Stayed in touch with that man until he passed a few years back.

I saw a woman get hit by a car in ocean city md and it was pretty gruesome. Then again, I've seen way worse online.

You get used to it.

and then you might start enjoying it.

but seriously sucks to see that stuff

i saw a granny drop dead 2 meters in front of me when i was 13 then i was made to guard her body so people would not steal her things while waiting for authorities

I have seen a guy jump off a roof when I was 6 or 7, I was looking out the kitchen window and he was on the roof of the building across the street, he casually went to the edge and just kept walking and fell off.

People die.

It happens sometimes in the full view of everyone with a young and willing participant, and sometimes it happens at a hospital with an old individual who would love to stay in this world just alittle longer but his body won't let him.

So, live every day like it will be your last, because you'll never know when it will be your last, unless you're a willing participant.

Fucking liar.

Saw a kid drown when I was about 10.

We were at an outdoor summer pool near our house. It was always crazy busy on summer days. Most days, you had to wait in a line up for a while before getting in, as they could only let a certain capacity of people in.

So the pool is just teeming with kids, all laughing, swimming, jumping around, off the diving board etc. I'm waiting in line for the diving board, and my turn comes up. I run, jump, summersault off the end into the pool. As I breach the surface, I look down, and see this kid floating face down near the bottom of the pool. so I start yelling as loudly as I can. Next thing I know, the lifeguards are blowing their whistles, diving into the pool and telling everyone to get out of the pool. They drag this kid to the surface, and onto the deck of the pool. Of course it's an outdoor pool with only a chainlink fence separating the deck from the outside area. They hustle us all out, and we all go stand by the fence watching them perform CPR on the kid. A couple of parents come and tell us all to go home, so we leave.

I heard the next day that the poor kid died. That's the only person I've seen actually die in front of me.
