Saving Private Ryan knife scene just happened in Ukraine, saddest video I've ever seen

200.gif

Not surprised the Mongolian won that fight. Wrestling is a huge part of Mongol culture even today.

RIP the Ukrainian.

It's real life. I showed it to my teenage son who is considering joining the military. I'd rather see a disturbing video than experience it first hand.
Someone has to do the job and if he feels it's his calling I would not try to stop him with videos like that. It rarely works. Just like police it's part of what can happen on the job but people are still willing to do that for the benefit of everyone else.

Sure, some poor kid needs to get killed by a drone so we can stick our nose in other countries' business.

It is war. Death always follows it.

That sounds horrible. Don't care to watch that sort of stuff anymore. Seen enough death to last several lifetimes.

Just saw the video. Very sad video.
What does Haza mean though? Any Ukranians/Russians here?

At this time, two dillings jumped out from around the corner and were very close to the barn. One of them was the one who shot Gika. Aiming at him, Tuta pressed the trigger. A short automatic queue threw the hohl to the wall of the house and the one, rolling over, was outside the firing zone. The second, hiding around the corner of the house, began to call his cry, and it was also heard that he was tied around the walkie-talkie and called for help. Then the dill turned to Tuta.

— Hey, can you hear me? I know what you hear.

You're hurt, hungry, I guess. We will help, bandage, feed. We won’t do anything wrong. Give up Then you will go for an exchange. You’ll get home anyway.

Tuta, putting the machine on the ready, silently listened to the dill. The breathing gradually subsided, the heartbeat calmed down a bit. There was an ability to think clearly. Nobody came to the rescue, but a drone flew in. The buzzing of the copter was heard from afar and through the Tuta window I noticed that this was a kamikaze drone, intended to hit the barn. Seeing this, Tuta immediately rushed into the far corner and took refuge behind a small ledge of the wall. The explosion flunked the front wall of the barn and the front door inside. Immediately dill threw a grenade after him, but this explosion did not harm Tute. Following the explosion, the dill appeared in the destroyed opening of the barn. Standing at the ready of Tutus, he immediately slashed the line. It seemed that the dill should immediately fall, because the distance was too close to miss, but the dill did not fall and did not even scream, but bounced around the corner. Hopingthat he still hit and wounded the enemy, the attack aircraft rushed to the corner.

When Tuta ran up to the corner, the crest suddenly jumped out to meet and grabbed onto the barrel of the machine, trying to tear it out. A struggle ensued. Opponents circled on the spot and each pulled weapons to himself. Ukrop was almost on his head above Tuta and much stronger. In addition, the arm that did not heal after the first wound did not allow it to fight at full strength. Swirling in place, Tuta remembered about his knife and holding the machine with his left hand, grabbed the knife with his right belt. From what he saw at the dill, his eyes expanded and he began to try even harder to tear out the machine, while he began to circle to the left side, away from the blade of the knife. Tutu from the strong jerks of the dill threw from side to side, and he could not get his enemy with a knife. But at one point, the left leg of the enemy was exposed near, using which, Tuta immediately struck the thigh. Ukrop wildly screamed in painblood surged from the wound and immediately, as if gathering all his strength, the dill fell on Tutu. Being below and hoping for his knife, Tuta began to strike in the left side of his enemy. Thick clothes, armor and a civilian winter coat dressed on top of the uniform was impossible to punch a knife. Tuta tried to strike with all her might, which is why the blood-stained palm slipped along the hilt on the blade and cut her fingers, and there was no way to intercept the knife. Ukrop saw that the handle of the knife slipped out of Tuta's palm and immediately grabbed this handle with his left hand. Having pulled a knife from Tuta’s hands, he immediately struck, rushing into his head. At the last moment, Tuta managed to evade the blow, which is why the blade of the knife slipped next to the face and spread the ear sink in half. The crunch of torn cartilage was heard, along with this, from the last forces, curved,Tuta threw off his opponent and was upstairs. The back of the face of the back of the brush of the left hand of his enemy, in which the knife was gripped with his teeth, and with his left hand he still continued to hold the whole machine. Only growl and mooing were heard, as well as loud sighs and exhale of the fighting. The struggle was not for life and to death was silent without words. Tuta tried his best to hold the enemy’s hand in his teeth \, there was a taste of blood in his mouth, but it is incomprehensible, his or another. At the same time, he tried to tear his knife from the hands of the enemy, but it did not work out. Ukrop held on to the knife with a dead grip. At one point near the head of the dill, Tuta saw an pointed splinter of the slate, which he immediately grabbed with his right hand and from the bottom of his head he planted his enemy in the left eye, putting his palm in depth. Ukrop immediately released a knife from his hands, who picked up Tuta and planted one blow in his neck, then inflicted two more blows from the top of the armor into the area of the heart. The dill boiled and:

— That's it. All brother, you killed me. Let me die calmly. Mom, mom goodbye, I'm dying. Sky, goodbye – and through gurgling in the throat – good.

After standing a little over him and seeing the torment of his enemy, Tuta pulled a grenade out of his armor’s pocket, pulled out a check and, sticking his armor, ran into the barn.
Here's a human translation of the hand-to-hand combat paragraphs, as the machine translation isn't very good:

At this time two Ukes [I tried to think of a derogatory word for Ukrainians] darted out from around the corner and were now right next to the barn. One of them was the one who shot at Geek. Aiming at him, Tuta [the Yakut] squeezed the trigger. A short rifle burst threw the Khokhol (another derogatory word for Ukrainians) against the wall of the house, and tumbling over, he was now out of the fire zone. The second one, taking cover behind the corner of the house, started calling his comrades, shouting, and Tuta could also hear that he was communicating on his radio and calling for backup. Then the Uke spoke to Tuta:

Hey, can you hear me? I know you can.

You're injured - and hungry, no doubt. We'll help you, give you medical treatment and food. We won't do anything bad to you. Surrender! Then you'll be exchanged. You'll still get to go home.

Tuta, holding his rifle at the ready, silently listened to the Uke. His quick breathing gradually subsided and his pulse calmed down somewhat. He gained the ability to think clearly. No one had come to help the Uke, but a drone had flown up. Tuta had heard the drone's buzzing from a distance, and through the window he saw that it was a kamikaze drone, preparing to attack the barn. Seeing this Tuta immediately threw himself into the far corner and hid behind a small projection of the wall. The explosion caved in the front wall and door of the barn. The Uke immediately threw in a grenade, but this explosiong also didn't harm Tuta. After the explosion the Uke appeared in the wrecked entrance of the barn. Tuta, standing ready, immediately hit him with a rifle burst. It seemed that the Uke would have to go down immediately - it was too close a distance to miss from - but he didn't go down or even cry out, but darted around the corner. Hoping that nevertheless he had hit and wounded the enemy, the trooper dashed to the corner.

When Tuta got to the corner, the Khokhol unexpectedly ran up to meet him and grabbed the barrel of his rifle, trying to tear it from his grip. Grappling started. The opponents circled in place, each pulling the weapon to himself. The Uke was almost a head taller than Tuta, and much stronger. Also the wounds to his arm, not healed since the first attack, prevented him from fighting with his full strength. Turning on the spot, Tuta remembered his knife, and holding the rifle with his left hand, pulled it from his waistband with his right. The Uke's eyes widened in surprise, and he tried even harder to wrest the rifle from Tuta's grasp. He also began turning to Tuta's left, away from the knife blade. Tuta was thrown from side to side by the Uke's violent jerks, and he couldn't reach his enemy with his knife. Then, one moment his enemy's left leg happened to be close, and Tuta seized the opportunity and stabbed him in the hip/thigh. The Uke yelled wildly with the pain and blood gushed from the wound. Then, as though gathering all his strength, he threw all his weight onto Tuta. Ending up on the bottom, and trusting in his knife, Tuta started stabbing his opponent in his left side. His thick clothing, bulletproof vest and civilian winter coat over the top were impenetrable. Tuta tried to stab with all his might, causing his bloody palm to slide off the knife handle and onto its blade, cutting his fingers, and there was no chance to grab the knife again. The Uke saw that the handle had slipped from Tuta's palm, and immediately grabbed it with his left hand. Ripping the knife from Tuta's hand, he immediately aimed a stab at his head. At the last moment Tuta was able to slip the blow, but the blade slid past his face and ripped his earlobe in half. He heard the crunch of the cartilage tearing. At this moment, with the last of his strength Tuta doubled up and threw his enemy off, ending up on top himself. The back side [the surface you would karate chop with] of the Ukrainian's left hand, in which he was holding the knife, was near Tuta's face and he sank his teeth into it, continuing to hold the foregrip of his rifle with his left hand. Only growling and bellowing could be heard, as well as the heavy breathing of the combatants. The grappling not for life, but to the death proceeded silently, without words. Tuta tried as hard as he could to keep his opponent's hand between his teeth. He could taste blood, but didn't know whose. At the same time he tried to wrest the knife from the Ukrainian's grip, but in vain. The Uke held it in a death grip. One moment, beside the Uke's head Tuta saw a sharp piece of roofing shingle/slate. He grabbed it with his right hand, and with full backswing rammed it into his opponent's left eye, beating it in deeper with blows of his palm. The Uke let go of the knife, and Tuta picked it up and stabbed him in the neck with it, then twice, above his bulletproof vest in the area of the heart. The Uke wheezed:

Ok! Ok brother, you've killed me. Let me die in peace. Mum - goodbye Mum, I'm dying. Goodbye, sky [now with gurgling in throat] - Finish me off.

Standing over his enemy for a short time and seeing his suffering, Tuta pulled a grenade from the Ukrainian's bulletproof vest pocket, pulled the pin, stuffed it under the Ukrainian's vest and ran into the barn.

A city slicker Ukrainian wasn't going to win a wrestling match vs a country boy Mongolian that dude must have been strong AF.

I'm seeing different accounts of what was said now.

In the one posted by Zer, it has this part:

Yakut: put the knife down and I'll put it down too.

Ukr:ainian okay, I see I see (unintelligible)

the fight goes on

Haza! Haza, you :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:! Haza,:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: Haza!

Fuck, let go (of my fingers)! I'm fucking sick of you biting my fingers! Haza, you :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:!

Yakut stabs several times, Ukrainian continues to call for help

If this is true then it sounds like they agreed to stop fighting, or were on the verge of it. After they agreed to let go of the knife, I wonder which one broke his word and held on to it?
