Obviously I can't post the video but it was posted on 4chan

Saddest video I've ever seen

The play by play shown by the Ukrainian's body cam:

A Ukrainian soldier with a drone saw a Mongolian Russian soldier in a building
He decides to go after him
The Mongolian and him were shooting each other
The Ukrainian decided to go in the building
They're both injured and the Mongolian knocked him to the ground
They started fighting on the ground, the Ukrainian took out his knife and tried to kill the Mongolian
The Mongolian overpowered him and stabs him several times
Ukrainian soldier is dying and told the Mongolian he misses his mom and to just let him die in peace
The Mongolian just sat there and held him in his arms until he died

Yeah I saw that vid earlier, brutal. I also saw a translation of what they were saying afterwards and it was so sad, I'll see if I can find it again

(Would post the source but it includes the vid)

Translation of what I could recognize. I assumed that there was a yakut soldier on the russian side because of his appearance, the fact that he did not speak russian well and because he had a yakut knife.

yakut fires from a building and wounds a ukrainian soldier Aah, I'm 300. (I'm wounded)

takes the Yakut soldier's AK aside

You fucking motherfucker came to my motherland! Fucking asshole!

knife fight started

what are you looking for? One! One, two!

shouts someone's call sign, maybe on the radio or to his partner who should have been nearby

Haza! Haza! Haza! Haza bitch! Haza motherfucker! Haza!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:!

Put (the knife) down, bitch!

Haza, you fucking :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:! Haza, you fucking :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: bitch, I hate you!

Yakut: Put the knife down, eh?

Ukrainian: Haza!

Yakut: We're both fucked, fuck it.

Ukrainian: Huh?

Yakut: We're both fucked.

Ukrainian: Yeah.

Yakut: put the knife down and I'll put it down too.

Ukr:ainian okay, I see I see (unintelligible)

the fight goes on

Haza! Haza, you :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:! Haza,:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: Haza!

Fuck, let go (of my fingers)! I'm fucking sick of you biting my fingers! Haza, you :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:!

Yakut stabs several times, Ukrainian continues to call for help

Haza! Haza!

Ukrainian says something indecipherable to Yakut, Yakut inflicts fatal wounds

Ukrainian: That's it, Mom, goodbye! Wait, let me die in peace! You've already cut me open. Let me die quietly. It hurts a lot. unintelligible beautiful. Let me pass away peacefully. Let me die. Don't touch me, let me die. Please go away. I want to die myself, thank you. You were the best fighter in the world. Farewell! You were better!

Yakut: Farewell brother!

Ukrainian: Farewell!

the sound of a grenade fuse activating and a grenade falling nearby

Ukrainian: don't do it.

grenade explodes and blood drips off the body

Read that and wondered if it could be an ai script

Last wish should be respected. It's been that way even when we kill criminals from death row.

First fcked up vid i seen was of a soldier viciously getting his throat cut open. Didnt feel a need to watch shit like that again. Cant ever erase that. Worse thing were the savage remarks in the comments section. Really goes to show how fcked this world can be.

they're really talking to each other while fighting, and it's a lot less angry than you'd think. very primordial. fight probably took place a million times in history, all around the world. it's why footage like this is more memorable than some drone horseshit.

and you can really hear the fatal stab, with the hissing and gargling that comes with it. it's very distinct if you listen closely, towards the end. after that the ukie says he's done. and it was really done with an actual yakut knife, you can see the groove on it.

Jesus christ. It's crazy we can see footage of this stuff as the war is happening.

I saw some trench fighting video the other day and it's a lot like in saving private ryan. Bullets cracking by, grenades/mortars/kamikaze drones going off everywhere, guys screaming and crawling in the dirt. They even show you (albeit blurred out) Russians getting dropped with rifle shots. Some crazy shit happens that you would think is bullshit if it was in a movie. A humvee gets hit with an rpg and blows up with smoke and parts flying everywhere, but everybody inside survives and continues the assault. One guy gets dropped by a bullet to the neck but also miraculously survives. A russian (without a weapon) runs into the Ukranian position, realizes "oh shit" and then runs back to his side before everybody realizes what just happened.

Some of it is so close quarters that I'm not surprised they end up fighting hand to hand.
It's all insane and sad and morbidly fascinating at the same time.

I don't want to watch that, but based on the transcript zer posted, the Mongolian said we're both fucked. Does that mean he was fatally wounded too? Did he drop a grenade to give them both a quick death?

Kinda gives idea how crazy it was back in the day with swords and shields

Siberian survived theres a pic of him on reddit with ear taken off, grenade was dropped on ukr guy as "mercy" or just to finish him off

that pic...i dunno. his hands aren't bandaged at all and he spent half the fight gripping the blade of the knife of the ukie and pulling on it. he was bleeding like hell from those wounds.

This is what people imagine war is like, like an FPS or most films, and it is part of it, but the majority is people getting blown up by artillery shells, mortar rounds, rockets, drones etc., by an enemy often a long way away they can't see or strike at, and may not even know is there. IEDs and aviation as well.

This kind of face-to-face symmetrical combat of course used to be what war was like, but it's got much less like physical combat and more like a computer strategy game or something.
