It looks like the Saudis and Emiratis really are going into Syria, on the ground.
Now I wonder if the US will fall for their trap. The Saudis have been trying to get the US to bomb Assad for a few years now and were/are pissed that Obama didn't get involved.
So now they try attempt #2, which is them promising to send troops to fight ISIS , though we know they are really there to fight Assad.
My hunch is their promise of sending troops to fight ISIS is them laying a trap for the US, to get the US dragged into their coalition . Once in Syria, they won't be doing much so the US will be forced by the war hawks here and Europe to put boots on the ground , or atleast launch an air campaign against Assad. The excuse will be that we can't abandon the Gulf Arabs and Turks and it's in Israel's benefit too .

The policy makers , military heads and political leaders here will know this is an attempt to get the US involved. So it comes down to whether there is enough pressure on Obama and if he bends to it.
Erdogan is threatening to open the flod gates and send more refugees to Europe, so the Euros will get onboard with deposing Assad because Erdogan is twisting their arm. But if the Sunni Rebels win, there will be mass ethnic cleasning and genocide , leading to Shia, Christian , Kurds and Druze fleeing Syria to Europe anyways.
