Nutshell: You play as Arjun, an enforcer who travels off-world to uncover a lost colony

Fun fact: Housemarque CEO has said this project only became possible after joining PlayStation Studios given the vision and scale they had in mind; development began in 2022 with a starting budget of 75M€

Fun fact: Different from previous title Returnal, new resource and progression systems will persist in addition to loadouts with unique evolution pathing

Sneak peak:

Major Dune vibes! State of Angus: peppered.

Steely-eyed preorder for me. Full faith and confidence Housemarque delivers after experiencing Returnal. DualSense integration will be off the charts.

Returnal was one of the biggest surprises Ive had in a long time. Awesome game. I hope this isnt just "A Returnal sequel but we called it something else".

But, shit, even if it is, im in.

I pirated Returnal not too long ago, really liked the hour or so I played. I'll pick it up when I'm ready, as they deserve my $$. I don't like roguelike games often but they're a cool dev, they ooze style.

I hope this isn't another Roguelike, would love to see what they can do with an action rpg, or just an action game with rpg elements.

I suppose its not confirmed but everything seemed to indicate another game in a similar vein to Returnal.

I keep seeing this being posted on websites but I thought they confirmed that during the State of Play. Maybe I'm going crazy. Could have sworn they said "and you'll see gameplay sometime later this year". Hope it's in May or June and not at the Game Awards in December. Don't want to wait that long.

Well, thinking about all this, Returnal launched on PS in April, and then a couple years later saw launch on PC – and again around springtime in mid-February. Also, H/marque started gameplay reveals for Returnal around October for that April launch, so 6-ish months out. If I'm going to guess in roadmapping SAROS, I'd say they're going to showcase game slices + gameplay in July-August with slow trickle of stuffs until actual launch February 2026. Spitball, of course, but let's see.

I have loved every Housemarque game I’ve played, so this has to be played too.

Gd I love that studio.

Are all their games bullet hell style? Any you enjoyed more than returnal?

all were twin stick shooter types. The ones played. Alienation, resogun, Nex Machina, Matterfall… even Returnal has its foundation in that style.

My favorite game of theirs is Nex Machina, though I imagine most will say their favorite is Returnal. That’s my second favorite. Just something about the ease of play and the soundtrack in Nex Machina. Very-zen once you get it. Old school design with new school bells and whistles. That’s my jam
